A Tea Party Manifesto

There's tremendous promise for conservative and traditional Americans in the burgeoning tea party movement. The grassroots resistance to the Obamocratic bailout-welfare state is sowing the seeds for a conservative revival, and frankly, that's why leftists are so intent to delegitimize conservative activists who are taking to the streets saying, "Enough!"

Will Collier, however, says the movement's still inchoate - folks need a "
tea party manifesto" to focus populist anger into a specific program of limited government policymaking:

If the Tea Party movement is going to amount to anything more than people who wouldn't normally go to a protest protesting, it's going to have to come up with a consistent set of concrete (and realistic) goals, and clearly express those goals to the press and to the rest of the public.
Check the post for the full "manifesto," which includes a "moratorium on bailouts, whether for Wall Street bankers, General Motors, or the irresponsible guy down the street who "bought" too much house. 'Failures must be allowed to fail'."

Quick question: do you believe in the existence of companies that are "too big to fail"? If so, how are they created?

What really makes me mad about all these bailouts is that they were necessary in the first place. If these companies really were "too big to fail," then there was nothing free about our free market economy in the first place!

I remain unimpressed with the "Tea Party" movement. I have friends that are heavily involved in it, too.

Large gatherings of people yelling "Lower Taxes!" and "Lower Spending!" just isn't going to cut it. This is the same message that we conservatives have been screaming (and that has been ignored by our representatives) for decades.

They have seen it before, yet the total number of them that have actually lost their seats over the years to it can probably be counted on one hand.

The only thing that is going to work is to put the fear of God in these people. Large crowds sending tea bags off to Washington, most all of which will be intercepted by postal workers, thus never getting near their intended recipients, isn't going to do much of anything.

If they want a coherent message, why not a mass rally in support of the FairTax?

Its like I told my friends mentioned above. Call me when you are ready to load up the pitchforks and torches, and a truckload of recall petitions and impeachment demands, and head off to Washington.

I'll be there with bells on.

Today I have a post on the possible "infiltration" of far left operatives (such as ACORN) on our teaparties. I have some suggestions for attendees for dealing with the possibility. Having been with the Patriot Guard Riders, and dealing with the leftist Westboro Baptist clods (I don't call them a church), I picked up on some common sense rules of engagement tactics, if you will. Nothing like hanging out with old Vets and LEOs to get the commonsense approach. LOL!!!
Please check it out on my blog and help get the word out to party goers so they don't get caught up unprepared.
