OMG Brooklyn Decker!

I think Sports Illustrated plays hardball with their copyright claims. Photobucket deletes any bikini images I've ever saved from SI, and it took practically no time for their prowling image-hawks to delete the brand new cover shot of Brooklyn Decker. We do have video, in any case, so I guess that makes up for it somewhat:

See also, ABC News, "Brooklyn Decker: Sports Illustrated Bikini Bombshell: North Carolina-Bred Model Brooklyn Decker Is New Swimsuit Issue Star."

And by the way,
Blazing Cat Fur has a pinup competition underway (triggered in part by my own Anne Hathaway blogging). More on that later.

Why save photos to Photobucket when you can simply upload them to your website from your computer's hard drive?

Just give credit where credit is due.

Bruce: I need to "host" the images somewhere for posting. Photobucket's good overall, and I've heard less than great endorsements for the competitors.

Excellent post, Donald! :-)

Copyright is a very bad thing for the Internet.

I have a friend on Hawaii, and she got scared when Kim Jong Il threatened to send a missile that way.

Then I wrote something against the North Korean dictator and his missile threats, and published a picture of him on my blog.

I got immediately threatened by a company in Texas, which claimed I had stolen their picture, and had to take it down.

On another occasion I wanted to describe what the ark of the covenant looks like.

I found a picture - also on Google - and published that.

Then I got an angry Church after me and FBI deleted the image from my blog, leaving a warning message.

Today I only publish YouTube videos.

All copyright laws stand in the way of education, free debate, and technological development.

In Europe we have some political parties, which want to close the internet at the national borders for "security reasons".

And I have heard of business corporations here, which fire people who blog on their free time.

If you publish a picture you find on Google images on your blog, our laws consider it as bad as if you have broken into someone's home and stolen a valuable painting.

That is sick!

When I write something in a foreign language and have readers all over the world my country might be unhappy.

My employer might also be unhappy.

And maybe your country is unhappy?

But I hope you are happy, Donald!

What a terrible mess! :-)
