Oh, the last, sad days of filming "Let it be." Interesting choice of favorite Beatle song, but a good one!
Friends and I went to see the film at its release in a majestic old theatre, now probably a block of flats... We enjoyed the afternoon like no other, but knew we were also in mourning. This group, who had shattered the leaden weight of fear and despair months after the Kennedy assassination, were now in a death spiral and we knew they taking pieces of our youth with them.
Thanks for this bittersweet memory.
Great great great song! Throw in "Across the Universe", or "I, Me, Mine", or "The Two of Us"- they're all great.
I've been pleased and a bit surprised by the staying power of the Lads. And special thanks to Guitar Hero for introducing real music to a new generation of kids.
