I'm back, Donald! :-)
Well, I'm at Thessaloniki right now.
My Greek is gradually getting better; Greek is a difficult language indeed.
3 months without computers, telephone, electricity, and hot water on the Holy Mountain (Mount Athos) as a monk was a great experience.
I think the 40 days of fasting before Christmas was a healthy experience. I needed it.
And practicising the Jesus Prayer builds up.
I still live in 2011 according to the Orthodox Julian calendar.
My spiritual life is fantastic.
I was baptized Greek Orthodox in the Mediterranean sea, close to the best Church in the world - Metamorphosis (Transfiguration) - at the Koutloumousiou monastery, which is like a home for me.
I might show up at the Greek Orthodox Church in L.A. soon Christ willing.
Have a good one! :-)
Very representive of the "New South Africa"! We helped make this mess, but those who live there must live in it!
I'm glad you're back, Philippe!
'We helped make this mess...'
And how is that, Ron?
We pushed power into the hands of those who were not quite ready to govern. Not a politically correct statement, but I believe nevertheless a fact.
Thanks, Donald! :-)
