Obama to Accept Nobel Peace Prize: 'A Call to Action'

Allahpundit's post was the first I saw, and it's a good thing, because I thought it was a joke: "Obama Wins Nobel Peace Prize. No, Really."

The president's excited, it turns out. See Mary Katharine Ham, "
Obama 'Looking Forward' To Accepting Prize in Oslo." Also, the Politico, "President Obama: I Will Accept as 'Call to Action'."

Of course,
this what it's really all about:

Perhaps the fact that Obama actually escalated the Afghan deployment is an oversight. So much for "peace," I guess?

There's something to be said for Obama's peacenik branding, in any case: "The United States is the most admired country globally thanks largely to the star power of President Barack Obama and his administration, according to a new poll."

Jennifer Rubin sums up my thinking on this farce: "There is no better illustration of the debasement of the “international community” and the fundamental unseriousness of what passes for international elite opinion." Also, from Phil Kerpen, "Obama Wins Prize for 'Hope' and 'Change'." And, a roundup at Berman Post, "Obama Wins The Nobel Peace Prize."

  1. Now, I know for sure...the world really is coming to an end!

Well, you know..the Antichrist is supposed to fool everyone into thinking that he brings peace to the whole wide world before the end comes?

Just kidding, but I'm too disgusted to laugh, even though it is laughable that he, of all people, won the Nobel PEACE prize!

"What's this world coming to, anyhow?" I heard someone ask the other day.

I think I know the answer to that, don't you?

    And it's not funny.

  2. HAHAHAH,

    A call to action?

If I promised to rid the world of hunger, of oppressive governments, and poverty .. You know what, I'll colonize Mars too! Yeah! All by 2012!

... now where's MY Nobel Prize?! I think giving me one now would really ensure I accomplish all of that.

More Obama insanity! Things have only gotten progressively worse and will continue to do so right up to the day the internet is shut down by Mark Lloyd.

Obama is an articulate con man with one agenda and that is to socialize this Republic. ANYTHING that comes out of his mouth should never be taken seriously! it is a diversionary tactic designed to keep the American people calm and at bay while he works with the radical Marxist Czars he has appointed in order to convert this country into a fascist State. We need to stop blaming the other disaster GW Bush which I feel was only a recursion put in place to weaken the economy by creating unjustified wars, policy and open the door for corporate & Government relations (Which is against the Founding Fathers) only for the sole purpose of setting up the bowling pins for the Obama administration. People need to start looking into Obama's past and his acquaintances. Once you understand Obama's past you will understand Obama and his agenda. He has lied about every single campaign promises he has made and in fact did the exact opposite. You have to start thinking outside the box and start investigating the Communist element that is now in running Washington. Its not about what Bush did anymore, its about what Obama is doing and the liberal left wing media who are helping him achieve this "Change" he is talking about. Start reading into the past history of these Czars he has appointed and then you will be getting on the right track.

Out of all this horrifying realizations there's one thing I found that makes me laugh (aside from the tragic irony of the global elite pinning a medal on Obama's chest for all of America to see for his subversion to the Constitution), there's a game I found where I get my own militia and can actually bring all of these war criminals and enemies of the Constitution t justice (for a proper trial of course), it's called "2011: Obama's Coup Fails", you can google it.

  3. From now on, this award should be known as ...

    THE NOBEL PC PRIZE

No matter how many just wars you refuse to prosecute.

  5. As I understand it all submissions for the Nobel prizes had to be in on 1 February 2008. So Obama got the Nobel for 11.5 days of his term in office.
So who says he is not a god to these politicians who make up the Nobel committee or is some other agenda at work here? I understand that he is going to get the MVP for the 2010 Superbowl, the World Series and has a good chance of getting the Heisman trophy as well.
Maybe we can have a contest for each prize and trophy Obama wins without accomplishing a thing? It would be apt for a person who wants to take from those who actually accomplish and give to those who do not.
The only Nobel he is not going to get is one for Literature because he actually wrote, so they say, two books.
Even the news media is incredulous.

Thanks for finally changing the fake quote in the header, though... Was too long in coming...

  8. Great roundup! Thank you for the link.

The more I think about it the more stunned I am. Just heard Obama and apparently he is just fine with accepting awards regardless of whether he's done anything to deserve them or not.

I stand by my original thought that this award is an insault to the President. I believe it is called "the soft bigotry of low expectations."

  9. Anon ... spare us the talking points.

When has your kind of diplomacy liberated a nation from tyranny ... as opposed to treating dictator and democrat with an equal amount of morally-equivalent deference?

When has your kind of diplomacy led to REAL reductions in arms stockpiles ... as opposed to illusory promises/targets that don't get met, much less stay that way.

When has your diplomacy led to a sustainable peace ... as opposed to a facade that eventually crumbles?

I can tell you when and how my kind of diplomacy -- the cowboy kind you sneer at -- has done all of the above.

What can you tell me about yours?

I can tell you something about yours ...

    EPIC LEFTIST FAIL!

Some of us remember the last few times we relied on your kind of diplomacy ... the thugs and fanatics grew stronger and bolder back then.

We only made significant progress, when we directly, expeditiously, resolutely, and decisively confronted enemies of life and liberty as they became evident (not just if and when they directly attacked American soil ... the antithesis of what you stand for.

The Nobel Prize, today, was awarded to a FANTASY ... and by doing so, the Nobel Committee and all involved are working AGAINST real, sustainable peace ...

... for without freedom -- and the respect for it -- peace is just an illusion.

  10. To quote Ronald Reagan, "Well...!"

Years ago I said the peace prize was meaningless. That was the same year Mr. Yazzir (That's My Baby) Arafat got it.
