At the viddy, Solis argues that "every working in the U.S. has a right to be paid fairly, whether documented or not."
Okay, no worry about illegal workers? Not going after employers who hire illegals? Solis came off way more tough last month on the subject of child labor, maybe the standards are different. Adult illegals: No crackdown. Child illegals: Crackdown:
"With the goal of ending illegal child labor as a top priority, our investigators are using every tool available — from imposing civil money penalties to using the ‘hot goods’ provision — to end these violations. In the coming agricultural seasons, the department plans to increase both outreach to workers and investigations of U.S. farms. After all, those farmers who follow the law deserve a level playing field.Hmm. Maybe we should just end illegal labor, period.

ReplyDeleteUh yeah Don, the standards are different. In fact, it's actually one of the basic tenets of our society: children have special rules and laws protecting them; it's kind of the whole point behind child labor laws.
You wanna secure our borders? Great, I'm right there with you. You wanna spend billions of dollars rounding up dishwashers, fruit pickers, lawn workers, maids, janitors, and busboys, the vast majority of which's only crime is doing an honest day's work for an honest day's pay? Be realistic.
I know you need an outlet for your anger and illegals make easy targets but the free market has spoken and the Invisible Hand has hired millions of illegal immigrants to do the jobs that Americans don't want to do. Your dream of rounding up millions of people and shipping them out of the country ain't ever gonna happen.
The Republicans are never gonna reanimate the corpse of Ronald Reagan and run him as the first zombie president either, so please just exhale and join the rest of us here in the real world.
As Michel Malecot, the owner of a popular San Diego restaurant, French Gourmet is taken into custody today, the Secretary of Labor puts out of new commercial. The commercial featuring our Secretary of Labor Hilda Solis she states “Every worker in America has a right to be paid fairly whether documented or not.” The commercial can be seen as part of our news today at teapartyhd.com.
ReplyDeleteAfter federal agents raided his business and discovered undocumented immigrants working in the kitchen, they indicted him on 12 felony counts of knowingly hiring illegal immigrants, which could lead to five years in prison and a $250,000 fine per count. On top of the charges, the government is trying to seize Malecot’s restaurant.
