Well, the daughter of one of our good blogging friends, Dana at Common Sense Political thought, is among the numbers of new enlistees. This has triggered some understandible emotions at the Pico residence:
Well, Autumn’s big day is coming: her recruiter is coming tomorrow at 1100 to pick her up for transport to the Harrisburg Military Entrance Processing Station. We had thought this would occur on the 20th, but her actual processing starts early on the 20th, so the Army is transporting her up on the 19th. As it happens, I had a couple of vacation days to use, and I took off tomorrow and Tuesday, so the change won’t be a problem for me.I really admire folks like Autumn. My hat's off, thanks all around, and good luck!
After processing, she’ll be on a plane to Fort Jackson, South Carolina, for nine weeks of basic training ....
So, she leaves in about 14½ hours for the biggest, hardest test of her life. We’re all really proud of her.

I recall a meeting at the Indianapolis War Memorial ... Our battalion commander ... reminded us that the nation’s people did not exist to serve in the Army, but rather that the Army existed to serve the nation. The whole point of the service was to help the nation achieve peace and prosperity. “If I catch you hoping for a recession, I’ll nuke you into next year!” T’was a lesson I took to heart.
More than once, I found potential recruits who were wholly qualified, but had no great desire to serve. If that young man or woman had a solid plan, they had my best wishes. Often, when you spoke to a young man or woman, they would immediately tell you, “I’m going to college.” Fair enough. But a few probing questions would soon tell you that they had no idea what they were going to college for, what they wanted to study, how that major would help them, how they planned to pay for school or pay off student loans. Those were the folks that I would recruit.
Boot camp was tough, but I can say that I did it.
ReplyDeleteThank you for your service, Shoprat!
ReplyDeleteDonald and others,
ReplyDeleteI wish I was wrong. Unfortunately, I believe I'm right. I found this now that I'm "studying up" and seeing a Great Depression worse than 1929 and a revolution coming to America. Here's this. Please, people - esp. Christians, take it seriously and begin to prepare. You must get out of debt and own a house, in a red state that will secede, cash - no matter how modest. And wisdom would dictate it would have gardening space. I'd fill the basement with canned goods and such. Stock up food. There will be such scarcity and lack it will be insane. That's where the revolution, in part, will come from. Here's Gerald Celente:

The man who predicted the 1987 stock market crash and the fall of the Soviet Union is now forecasting revolution in America, food riots and tax rebellions - all within four years, while cautioning that putting food on the table will be a more pressing concern than buying Christmas gifts by 2012.
Gerald Celente, the CEO of Trends Research Institute, is renowned for his accuracy in predicting future world and economic events, which will send a chill down your spine considering what he told Fox News this week.
Celente says that by 2012 America will become an undeveloped nation, that there will be a revolution marked by food riots, squatter rebellions, tax revolts and job marches, and that holidays will be more about obtaining food, not gifts."

People, I'm right about the coming Great Depression and the coming dissolution of the USA. I'm also, I believe, right, and I think you'll believe it as you see these things unfold, that Obama is the 666 beast.
Grace.
Please note that immigration can be used as a globalization tool by Obama. Basically, flood the US with voting citizens who have no loyalty to the US, her heritage, and are not Christian... and Obama can unite us with the UN, socialism, and even Islam through a leveraged popular vote.
ReplyDeleteTons of things are happening. Immigration may be used as a Marxist tool in the days to come. Be watching for that, imo.
Grace: In the spirit of getting along on this Inauguration Day, allow me to pass on a piece of an e-mail a close friend sent me not that long ago.
ReplyDeleteWhile I'm not ready to go as far as she is (converting all of her assets into gold bars & bullion), it does fit in with what you're saying, here... If you weren't already aware of Dr. Larry Bates, perhaps he can help you refine you're thinkin' on the subject...

I will tell you this, however. America is in for an extremely rude awakening. Within a few years time, we will be restructuring our entire economic system and defaults will be prominent in nearly EVERYTHING that is a "loanership" asset- including federal reserve notes (yes, the dollar, now worth 4.5 cents, will be almost worthless if not completely so), money markets, cds, t-bills, annuities, bonds and notes. Do me a favor and google derivative bubble. You will begin to educate yourself on the subject and do NOT stop until you have a complete understanding of how our economy works. The only assets which will have any true value will be "ownership" assets- gold, silver, platinum, coins, stocks, real estate (paid for) and collectibles.
This is no time to be liberal minded (no offense, but you cannot drink the kool-aid on this) or go with the rest of the sheeple. We are about to experience the greatest wealth transfer in history. You can be on the receiving end, or the left out in the cold end- your choice. I am telling you this because I love you, and I don't want to see you and the wife left out in the cold. If you have savings (401k, money under the mattress, etc), start the conversion process now while it is still perceived that a dollar is worth a dollar.
You will think I am crazy and that is OK...as long as you take action and educate yourself. This is no conspiracy theory. Our federal debt is 44 trillion dollars and our assets on hand (including everyone's savings and assets all added up) is 8 trillion. We just keep printing more and more dollar bills to service the debt----leverage upon leverage upon leverage. Anywhere between now and 5 years from now, this will positively come to pass....and it will be a planned event.
Let me know if you want more resources- but here is a good one for you to begin.

Maybe this'll make sense to you, & maybe it won't, but given what you posted, I figured I'd pass it on...
