Wonkette Attacks Trig Palin as 'Cheap Prop', Links More Grotesque Photoshops!

As readers know, I've been blogging this issue at the micro level all weekend. I've even been attacked as a "madman" for pointing out the hypocrisy of radical leftists in their relentless smears and attacks on Sarah Palin and her son Trig.

Well it turns out, as William Jacobson reports, that Wonkette has hopped onto the double-barrelled attack-Trig bandwagon, with its vicious smear on the Palin family, "Sarah Palin Will Soon Condemn, Bomb Entire Internet."

As William
so clearly argues:
It really is hard to understand why some adults feel the need to make fun of Trig Palin, a one-year old who has Down Syndrome. Politics alone cannot explain it. If you don't like Sarah Palin, fine, but why go after Trig?
It's a good question: Why go after Trig? But not only that, why demonize conservatives for actually thinking that there are some realms of the personal that should be free from partisan battle. Didn't President Obama suggest during the campaign that "Palin's family should be off limits"? Well, not for Wonkette at least. Those folks just can't help attacking the Alaska Governor and her family:
The Virgin Palin, Our Lady of Eternal Anger, gave birth to the New Jesus at some point last year — or not, who knows, and now Andrew Sullivan just cares about Iran (which is a good thing!) so we’ll never find out the truth — and ever since it has been both a Cardinal/Venial Sin and Sharia Law that no mortal shall “desecrate” an image of the Sacred One … no one but Sarah Palin herself, because Allah both allows and encourages the use of the Holy Infant as a cheap political prop as long as such cruel hackery is performed by the Virgin Palin herself.

Palin’s fury was such, when she found out some blog “on the Internet” had combined a picture of her cradling one of her Magic Babies together with a picture of her Jedi Master, some
dingbat old radio talk-show clown in Alaska, that she did verily send her dumbest disciple, “Brother Meg,” to start a Jihad against the Entire Internet.
Notice the layered slurs herein. By linking approvingly to Andrew Sullivan, Wonkette gives full endorsement to the most crazed schemes of the left's Bush-Palin-Rovian-Islamist derangement. For Wonkette, Governor Palin, not unlike the Islamist barbarians in the Middle East, will be launching a terrorist "jihad" against her ideological opponents.

For added fun, Wonkette links to some
horrid web forums featuring Photoshops of Trig Palin even more despicable than I've already seen this weekend.

SERIOUSLY!!

When does it stop? When do leftists say enough is enough? No more joking! Haha, we've had our fun and recrimination. Full. Stop. Now!

This is not a case of society looking at events through some "
poor retard blinders." Governor Palin was right to call out Alaska's Democrats for their malicious actions in attacking her family. As it is, this is pretty much par for the course on the secular collectivist left, as I've been saying all along.

  1. This is unreal. These lefty bloggers are incapable of behaving like adults. It's like they are a bunch of nasty, spoiled little kids. They're like some of the 'publics' (as I call them) on the block in the old neighborhood - desperately in need of mature parental guidance. That they are fully grown and have a forum for their base thoughts and so-called humor is shocking, really.

  2. I seriously do not understand the leftist contempt for this American sweetheart. She is a true female American success story. No one is perfect, but, I consider her a role model for my two daughters. She obviously loves her family and did a credible job in an energy state building an Alaskan surplus, as one of the most popular Governors. Her acceptance of federal stimulus money for construction projects (but apparently, as I understand it, refused money for government operations) seems logical. Increasingly, I don’t see her as president without more experience, but I said the same about Obama – a junior senator – but that is beside the point. I will never understand the inflammatory visuals depicting her child. When did that become an important political target worthy of satire? What worthy political argument does that advance?

  3. Simple Rusty, she left the reservation and therefore is a traitor. And traitors are shown no mercy.

  4. Rusty,

LITtle 6 month old children shouldn't be paraded around on national television for cheap political points on national presidential campaigns.

    What do you think?

If one is willing to sacrifice the anonymity of their children for this purpose, you would think they would be prepared to face the cheap political sattire that follows?

  5. Dont' get me wrong though, there's always room for a little faux moral outrage to rile up ssome more cheap political points.

  6. Tomas, you are so full of it, it isn't funny. All Presidential and Vice Presidential candidates have their families with them at national conventions and there shouldn't be any different rules for the Palins.

There is no justification for these vile attacks on an infant; they simply represent the deep, irrational hatred of the liberal left, the most fervent, rabid haters on the American scene.

  7. Isn’t it possible that they are proud of their families? I don’t think Obama having his family front and center during the campaign as often as he did was unusual for a proud parent. The Clinton’s there with Chelsea wasn’t considered “parading” her around for political advantage, yet she was and still is always there, looking pretty, with or without her boyfriend. Even she was unnecessarily dragged through the mud way too often. I think children should be off limits for satire.

I would shudder to imagine the outrage were the Right to attack the Obama children with Photoshop! They are highly visible – lovely as they are. I would be equally outraged were that to happen. This isn’t party-specific as much as just common decency. It should be an American imperative, much like it was when the press had more sense of restraint regards personal lives in the 50s and 60s. The Democratic president FDR was never filmed getting in and out of cars with his polio braces. I know we live in a differnt world, it is the common decency I miss.

  8. I understand what you're saying Rusty and any of those photoshops attacking or making fun of Trig are disgusting and should rightly be condemned. But I also think that the intent behind any photo manipulation should be honestly determined before anyone jumps the gun and cries foul.

Per your statement about the Obama girls: Let's hypothetically say that Obama had gotten Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid to go along with one of his policy proposals by giving them both something they desired for their district/state (what this is doesn't matter; it's a treat/gift, is the point).

Now a right-wing blogger finds a picture of Obama beaming like a proud father with both of his daughters on either side of him, his hands on each of their shoulders as they both hold aloft the big ice cream cones he's just purchased for them (such a picture may already exist, I don't know).

This blogger then photoshops pictures of Pelosi and Reid each smiling onto the necks of the girls, so that the two pols are now showing off the "treats" that Obama has furnished them with.

Now I ask you: Is this an attack on the Obama girls or is it making fun of Pelosi and Reid? And yes, I'm sure that some on the left would cry foul because both sides have their partisan loons but my point remains the same. I myself would not be upset by this in the least, nor would I exclaim that this kind of behavior only happens on/exemplifies the political right.

Manipulating the girls' images to make them look ugly or more stereotypically black would of course be just as despicable as when this was done to Trig but there is definitely a difference of intent.

Personally I think that way too much attention is paid to politicians' families and I find it strange/bothersome that we as a nation will not even consider someone for president unless they have a spouse and a family and a religion. Politicians have to make a public show of their families and religions because they can not run a competitive campaign without doing so, and this is because the voting public forces them to.

  9. You have to keep asking yourself, "just how low will they go?"

I am guessing far lower before this is over. Even though they deny it, the left truly fears Gov. Palin.

They are hoping to drive her out of politics altogether with there ceaseless, classless, and vile attacks.

Personally, I think verbally attacking a young child for any reason, particularly a special-needs one, is about three fathoms lower than the lowest whale dung.

  10. This is how the Progressives are. They've been this way for a long time. Remember how Wilson, T. Roosevelt, as well as FDR ruled. Why should you be surprised that they're at it again? It's merely history repeating itself.

  11. The left attacks a handicapped baby - we shouldn't be surprised. They do not have ethical standards, just an agenda. Al Gore was infamous for describing enemies as riding the short bus and having an extra chromosome. The respect for life, in all its forms, is just not there.

As for altering pictures of Obama's girls, I would hope that we would not go there.

I have a child with DS and run in the circles of parents and organizations that support and assist families with handicapped children. Many of these families had a Democratic allegience because they thought this was the party that would assist their kids the most. The outrage at the way Gov. Palin is treated, however, is changing that in a big way.

Keep it up lefty bloggers. You're helping us to see your real nature.

  12. It would seem to me that everyone should condemn this kind of disreputable behavior no matter where it comes. No one should care about the meaning of what is behind this for to do that only provides excuses and makes it acceptable.
The "everybody does it" is getting stale, trite and childish. Any person who cares about a society that can agree to disagree and respect others cannot condone this behavior no matter what the reasons. It demonstrates the worst about us. It only serve to lower our humanity and becomes counterproductive.
There would be no daily outrage if there were not those who lack the intelligence to state their cause effectively. At what point does this stop?
Theory should never replace truth and utopian dreams should not supplant people.

  13. All it does is show how immature these people are and how afraid they are of Palin.

  14. This is more of the "Norm" in left wing circles...that's why I have little to say to the diseased trash that supports Obama and his ilk.

These people have no guts, no brains, and no souls.

  15. Billiam: This is how the Progressives are. They've been this way for a long time. Remember how Wilson, T. Roosevelt, as well as FDR ruled."

I see your point with FDR domestic socialist initiatives, and Wilson reaching out to our enemies, while ignoring the military build-up to our peril – but, FDR and Wilson were Democrats, not progressives – and Teddy Roosevelt was a Republican turned 20th Century Progressive, which in those days was neither R, nor D.

I am probably just protective of TR after having read “The Rise of Theodore Roosevelt” and “Theodore Rex” a few years ago.

But, interesting, you bringing up 1900s. No Photoshop, but plenty of shameless pen and ink Caricatures!!

  16. These Obamaites re-enforce my distaste for them every time I see these attacks against Sarah and her kids. She did nothing but introduce them to the public like every other candidate has, yet because the demo-rats have little to attack her on they switch targets to the families. How loathsome. I look forward to supporting Sarah politically in any way she chooses to serve this country. As for the demo-rat trash, I look forward to cleaning the halls of government of your filth in 2010 and 2012. Drink all the Kool-aid you can, 'cause day going to come when the fountain of spew is going to run dry and the bill is due.

    Go Sarah!

  17. These people go after Trig because they don't like the fact that he's alive. They truly hate this beautiful child not only because his life gives Palin credibility as a pro-lifer, but because we'll be seeing Trig the adolescent smiling, competing in the Special Olympics and joyfully living a life these people claim had no value. These are people who consider themselves smarter than anyone who'd give birth to a special needs child rather than kill him or her and Trig Palin is a threat to their agenda.
