On healthcare, Moore might as well have been separated at birth from Paul Krugman, "The Defining Moment" (via Memeorandum):
Past efforts to give Americans what citizens of every other advanced nation already have — guaranteed access to essential care — have ended not with a bang, but with a whimper, usually dying in committee without ever making it to a vote.Blah, Blah ...
MM is an ignorant communist.
ReplyDeleteAny Public Option will encourage small businesses to drop the great coverage they offer employees now. Those companies would prefer to pay a modest government fine, leaving us with single payer system. That system will be ineffectively run, unnecessarily expensive, (huge tax-increases to pay for it) red-tape government option. Medicare will be cut, a shortage of doctors and long waiting for patients will occur-I could go on. This is the worst of Socialism.
MM suggests “profit-making” for insurance companies is a problem, yet it is the American profit and liberties system that allows him to collect movie profits while he uses his free time to hurl hate-speech at the American way of life.
The “preexisting clause” will encourage citizens to carry NO health insurance. Save your money, especially if you are young, pay a modest fine, and then when you are diagnosed with cancer, sign up for health insurance.
So, where is the money to pay for this? Anyone who thinks the deficit can be reduced by spending $894 Billion on Healthcare needs to re-take Economics 101. Obama (wealthy), Pelosi (wealthy) and Democratic congress (wealthier now than Republicans according to recent polls) are living in the typically disingenuous liberal cocoon of raking in money, while playing on the hopes and dreams of the less fortunate.
