New Left Media: 'Workers Defend Their Rights'

Folks can listen to how it plays on the other side, from New Left Media:

There's a lot of misrepresentation of fact, but that's to be expected. These are union hacks and progressives, and communist Medea Benjamin with a bullhorn gets a cameo at the opening. Actually, Walker's
budget would continue to include union collective bargaining over wages, so the protesters are mostly mouthing class warfare rhetoric with a few lies and distortions about the GOP agenda. It's true, though, Republicans are aggressively attacking union power, as well they should. Big Labor's corrupt thugs are bankrupting the states and raping the democratic process. See, "With no end in sight, Wis. stalemate could drag on for months; money won't run out until May." On the other hand,"Capitol Chaos: Senate Dems to Fight Budget Plan," and "Senate Republicans, Democrats work to end stalemate."

  1. The premise of such civil rights is Government entitlement. This is the spirit (and letter) of the act of 1964.

  2. You said they weren't attacking labor then in the next sentence said the were justified, so which is it? Look, the Governor already got his fiscal concessions from the union. The budget concerns were dealt with. The only justification left for the attack on collective bargaining is to damage the last major Democratic campaign contributor. I suppose the author prefers big business' money corrupting democracy instead of labor.

  3. "Big Labor's corrupt thugs are bankrupting the states and raping the democratic process."

It seems to me that any state governor who would ignore the 100,000+ people who came to demonstrate, and then threaten to fire public employees if the Democrats don't come back into the state so they can vote... It seems to me *that* guy would be the one 'raping the democratic process.'

As to whether labor is bankrupting the states, the answer is no. Thanks for playing. Better luck next time.

  4. Contradicting yourself in the space of two sentences? Disappointing - I expect those contradictions in the SAME sentence! You get an E for effort.

I guess "raping the democratic process" explains why "Big Labor" & their "corrupt thugs" have already caved on the money that this is supposedly all about - & by the way, those terms haven't been relevant since circa 1978 (& they were pretty bloody antiquated even then).

  5. Yes, which is it? Are they not attacking labor, or are they justifiably attacking those evil communist gay muslim baby-eating kitten-bashing hateful abortionist municipal workers?

If your house is burning down, do you want firefighters to come or not?

  6. I thought the right wingers got all weepy any time they thought about the heroes who responded on 9/11. Who knew the police and firefighters were really just a bunch of overpaid communist union members.
