Obama's Army of Followers

From the Associated Press, "Obamas take a walk, holding hands in the evening":

I'm guessing these folks weren't among the panicked New Yorkers during the recent Air Force One flyover in Manhattan!

  1. that flyover was the worst, most obnoxious thing any president could EVER do!! how selfish & 'show-offy' could he be?? it seemed like he was "king obama", showing his subjects how he could do whatever he wants!!

  2. And that has what to do with this exactly?

The fly over thing was stupid. We agree. Now move on people.

And sorry, "Mission Accomplished" still stands head and shoulders above this as wrong. I'm sure every family of every soldier who died in action since that statement would agree.

  3. I thought the flyover was just one stupid mistake until I viewed the video of that huge 747, engines screaming, passing low over ground zero trailing a fighter plane. I immediately thought: "NO ONE COULD POSSIBLY BE THIS STUPID". It was an intentional act and just another piece of Obama's personality that like an iceberg remains below the surface.

  4. So let me get this straight: This was a deliberate act, designed to terrorize New Yorkers (Obama's own base) and do what exactly?! Show them that a Chicagoan is better than they are? What exactly?

It was a stupid thing dreamed up by his publicity department.

  5. The fly-over New York show the inexperience and incompetence of Obama's chosen. Also it shows insensitivity to 9/ll and terrorism in general.

  6. Tim, having read as many milblogs as I have, methinks that many (dare I say, most) of those families you refer to understood "Mission Accomplished" for what it really was ... the conclusion of major combat operations that led to the toppling of the regime of Saddam & Sons ... and not as you and your ilk lamely try to spin it.

They also understood that the President shared their understanding.

However, you and your fellow-travelers can NEVER let an opportunity go to denigrate Mr. Bush ... because you have always seen tearing him (or any other conservative) down as hastening the day that the amalgam of elitism, licentiousness, parasitic behavior and cowardice that forms the basis of the Leftist worldview becomes the conventional wisdom.

And, as stupid as these asinine aerobatics over NYC were, they are minor in comparison to the stupidity on display recently, when our current President repeatedly apologized to the world for the American "arrogance" that -- up till now, at least -- has kept much of it free to both prosper and criticize our nation.

If all these supposedly-superior critics cared one whit about life and liberty, they would have been right beside us -- with their Men and Women in uniform cocked/locked/ready-to-rock, with no restrictions in the name of political correctness back in their respective homes -- in Afghanistan and Iraq, and lined up to go into Iran, NK, and the other dysfunctional nations of the world.

Mark my words ... the ONLY way you are going to have sustainable peace, is when these dysfunctional regimes are replaced with rights-respecting governance.

You aren't going to get it by apologizing and singing "Kumbiyah", because a lot of the "favorable" return that results from such activity is the favor of the thug for the weak ... not respect.

I learned that from watching Jimmy Carter founder ... and unless Mr. Obama expands upon his prudence in retaining the policies of Mr. Bush regarding detained terrorists, and does more to adopt the view I describe above ... he risks living up to my prediction of his being Carter 2.0.

Of course, there is a side benefit to his doing that, as well ... the entertainment value of watching the heads of your fellow Leftists explode as they find they have the mirror image of David Souter in the Executive Branch.

But I'm not holding my breath.

  7. Rich, that's right about Mission Accomplished. Nobody meant the war was over.
It's like the Left says Bush should have done something to prevent 9/11 because they were warned about airplanes...I'm wondering if that's just a good sound bite to make him look awful because what would any president have done.....ground every single plain JUST IN CASE for 10 years?

I didn't like a lot of what Bush did but to twist the truth like this wasn't helpful....and the Left now screeches at the slightest criticism of obama..amazing.

  8. "However, you and your fellow-travelers can NEVER let an opportunity go to denigrate Mr. Bush"---

Ironic, in light of the post to which this comment is attached, where people gawking at the president & his wife eating in a restaurant become pawns to a guy "who can NEVER let an opportunity go by..."

Funny, to watch some of you folks become the same kinda people you so recently railed against...

  9. One little difference. Obama is in office and Bush is in Texas.

  10. Repsac3,

Another falsehood. Most of us on the Right never tried to dehumanize our opposition such as you do when you call people dogs et al. I worry that the Left and its ilk dehumanize so the can justify killing those who disagree with them. If you can justify abortion then you can justify killing older people through rationing of health care, euthanasia, and just about anyone who does not share you dark view of life.
I would posit that you are in sync with bio-ethicists who view people no different than, what is the term you use, DOGS.
Spare us the whining and clean up your own act. Throwing rocks only covers your sins for a small while and most of us see right through it.

  11. So, me criticizing Bush is about as lame as Rich still criticizing Carter? Is that right?

  12. Dennis:

Forgive me for asking, (since the answer appears to be so obvious to you), but what are you talking about?

I never said anything about "most on the right," or "demonizing" anyone. I made a specific comment about a specific person (our host) turning onlookers gawking at the president & his wife out in public on a date into an "army of followers," and using the fact that there were onlookers to complain some more about the silly, stupid NY flyover, which was not a decision the president himself had anything to do with in the first place.

I'm not saying your rant about abortion, dehumanization, dogs (or "DOGS"), & who knows what all else is misplaced as regards every liberal in the country, but it has little to do with me, and doesn't respond to much of anything I actually said. (DOGS?)

You're welcome to posit anything you like about me. Proving any of those things you've so vocally posited thus far, seems to be a whole other matter, however.

  13. No, Tim ... it's more lame, IMO, because history shows me that Mr. Carter deserves much more of the criticism he has received, than Mr. Bush deserves the incessant expressions of BDS he receives to this day.

If y'all actually based your criticism on OBJECTIVE truth and common sense, instead of Utopian fantasy and the desire to ram the asinine amalgam I described earlier down my throat ... you'd have a lot less to talk about.

And repsac ... had our current President not been promoted by the MSM to cult-figurehood, to the point that he attracts a cult following ... we'd have a lot less to talk about, too.

  14. All I can say, Rich, is each of us is responsible for our own actions, separate and apart from what "the MSM" or anyone else on "our" side or "theirs" does or doesn't do.

    ReplyDelete
  15. We are responsible for our actions, repsac ... and our inaction, as in standing passively by as others act to create a cult-of-personality to obfuscate the imposition of their desired, but flawed, sociopolitical agenda.

The good Professor is being quite responsible here, in pointing all this out.

  16. Rich, you're smart enough to understand my words and their meaning, though like Donald, you seem to delight in pretending otherwise.

I stand by what I said. "Misunderstand" my last comment, and make it fit your meme, in whatever way most pleases you.
