A Battle Within the Tea Party Movement? Roger Ogden Responds

Roger Ogden, the Meetup Organizer of the San Diego Tea Party, has accepted my offer to respond to my entry from last night, "A Battle Within? Emerging Divisions in the Tea Party Movement." Roger submitted the following essay, unedited, along with the videos:

**********

This is a response to a post by Donald Douglas on American Power Blog on December 8, 2009. I am the organizer of a meetup group in San Diego, “Stop Obama Now”. My members are encouraged to fully exercise their freedom of expression at protests. No one has a monopoly on the truth or good ideas. No one is responsible at our protests for the opinions of some other individuals. We let everyone express their opinion and expect that the truth will prevail. I have also found that attendance is better and our protests are livelier and more energetic, when people have no arbitrary limits placed on them and they can express their own opinions without being censored. Attempts to limit what people can express stifle legitimate protest. Below is a clip of our protest against media bias at NBC studios in San Diego.

Black Liberation Theology is a racist, would-be state religion, whose central religious tenets involve the destiny of the black race and the fate of the white race and America. James H. Cone was the first to canonize the religious doctrine of Black Liberation Theology. Cones first two books are “Black Theology and Black Power” (1969) and “A Black Theology of Liberation” (1970). Some blacks consider Cone’s books to be scripture. According to a public statement of Obama’s self-described “spiritual guide”, Jeremiah Wright, this is the doctrine of Trinity United Church of Christ, which was Obama’s church for twenty years. Many will find the theology described in these books to be very shocking and disturbing. The doctrine can be described as a racist black identity religion that holds the black race to be morally superior, the “Chosen People” and god-like. The white race is held to be satanic or a manifestation of the Antichrist. The theology prophesies that a “Messiah” will arise from the black race, who will be an ordinary man. Cone admits in his own words in the preface of the book that:

“A Black Theology of Liberation has often been rejected as racism in reverse by many whites, particularly theologians … Father Andrew M. Greeley referred to my (Cone’s) perspective on black theology as a “Nazi mentality, a theology filled with hatred for white people and the assumption of a moral superiority of black over white.”

(Andrew M. Greeley is a well-known Catholic sociologist and popular author.)

Black Liberation Theology is more, however, than just a Nazi-mentality. It has distinct parallels to Nazism in its black supremacy and teachings of a divine mission of the black race to destroy the white race and to dominate the world. See the clip below for a relevant interview of Wright and many quotes from the foundation books on Black Liberation Theology by James H. Cone

The racism of Black Liberation Theology is similar to a reverse version of a theology developed by the Nazis, ironically called “Positives Christentum” (Positive Christianity). The Nazi “Christian Identity” movement still uses a similar doctrine in the United States. In the Nazi doctrine, the Aryan race is the manifestation of God and the Jewish/non-white races are satanic and/or the Antichrist. Jesus is a messianic revolutionary, fighting to liberate the Aryan race from oppression by non-Aryans. The teachings of Black Liberation Theology are similar, but racially reversed as described above.

Black Liberation Theology is based largely on the theology of the Black Nationalist group, the Nation of Islam, and is similar to that of other Black Nationalist sects, some of which are full-blown Manson-like, racist cults that worship their leaders and that have in the past carried out mass murders of whites and black opponents or non-believers. The Nazi-like characteristics of some of these related groups have been noted and reported in the past.

Since Obama was a member of the inner circle of a group, having a Nazi-like racial doctrine, the comparisons between Obama and Hitler/Nazism/Fascism are perfectly justified and legitimate. The public does not understand that Obama’s church has such a racially supremacist doctrine, because the media refuse to report it and politicians will not discuss it. Politicians, such as John McCain, are trying to be "nice guys" and not talk about it. Such people value their reputation more than they are concerned about what happens to America, even though McCain’s hypocritical slogan was putting America first. McCain put his politically-correct reputation first and his political derrière first. That is why I am so discouraged and disgusted with the leadership of the Republican Party. They seem to be able to imagine no greater evil than to have their taxes increased. I believe that there is a serious problem with both political parties. They are like two fraternities that compete, but try to maintain the limits of fraternal, gentlemanly civility. They care more about the political power of their party than they care about our country or what happens to ordinary Americans. They will not attack each other beyond certain limits, even if the fate of the Nation depends on it. George Washington warned Americans about exactly this type of political factionalism in his farewell address to the American public.

It has been said that in times of deception the truth is subversive. In our group, we intend to protect our constitutional rights by vigorously exercising those rights, not by toeing the party line of self-appointed commissars of the so-called Tea Party Movement, corrupt politicians or the politically-correct lapdog media. I will continue to compare Obama to Hitler, regardless of what anyone thinks and in spite of any attempts to smear my reputation, by slandering me as an “extremist.” I urge other Tea Partiers across the nation to do the same as a form of protest of the fact that the lapdog media has never fully explained to the country the racist and bigoted Black Nationalist doctrine of Obama’s church, which prophesies that the black race will produce a “Messiah” who will subjugate America and lead in her destruction by “any means necessary,” if Americans do not submit to their own enslavement. So far, the actions of the Obama administration are not inconsistent with what might be expected as initial steps in an attempt to implement this perverse religious doctrine by corrupting American democracy and subjugating the American people to a all-powerful central government that no longer recognizes constitutional bounds, nor the will of the American People.

What is proposed here is not a conspiracy theory, but that any person who practiced such a cult-like, hateful religion for twenty years is not trustworthy and therefore should not be allowed to hold an office of very high trust, such as the American presidency.

GM's Opel Decision Stokes Anger in Germany

Publisher's Note: It is my pleasure once again to publish a guest essay from a reader, Bill Dawson. A U.S. citizen, Bill has lived in Austria since 2000. He blogs regularly about German History rather than contemporary politics, but he has his finger on the pulse of the German-language media and offers an interesting perspective from across the pond.

**********

A story which involves a U.S. company but is just barely on the news radar in the United States is by far the biggest story in Germany today, November 5, 2009.

The Germans have gone wild with anger after hearing the news that General Motors has decided to keep Opel, a European subsidiary, rather than sell it as previously planned. The original idea was that GM would sell Opel to Canadian firm Magna International and Russia's Sberbank. The Germans -- and by that I mean the government and the gigantic trade union IG Metall -- apparently had much more faith that the Magna/Sberba combo would better protect Germany's Opel jobs. The Detroit News article (linked above) suggests otherwise by indicating that GM's plan to cut 20% of the Opel workforce is similar to what Magna had planned. Honestly, the details of the respective plans do not interest me, so I've not dug deep and tried to compare them.

What does always interest me is the predictable reactions that many Germans have when businesses in the United States affect people (read: "workers") in Germany. Journalists, politicians and labor leaders dust off their cowboy boot cliches and whine about the heartlessness of capitalism.

"Capitalism has apparently learned nothing," asserts angry IG Metall chief Berthold Huber (my emphasis, link is to German content). That statement appears in an interview; neither Huber nor the interviewer thought it necessary to explain what exactly was meant. If GM makes a decision based on its own interests, then this shows that "Capitalism has apparently learned nothing." I guess from Huber's perspective this means that Capitalism has failed to learn that if it does not protect jobs at all costs then... what? I can only assume he means that the lesson of the current worldwide financial crisis is that jobs must be protected at all costs, even if they don't make economic sense to the companies who provide those jobs. And Capitalism has failed to learn that lesson. Right.

"This behavior of General Motors shows the ugly face of Turbo-Capitalism," laments the Minister President (head of the government) of the German state North Rhine Westphalia (German link, my emphasis). He is a member of the Christian Democrats, the party of Chancellor Angela Merkel, which is traditionally considered center-right and is often accused by the Left of being too pro-business.

"Smoking Colts" (German link) is the title Thomas Wels chose for his very short opinion piece on the website of the Westdeutsche Allgemeine Zeitung. "The Americans have bargained just like they always do: up to the last minute, and with a Colt on the table." (My emphasis.) The disappointed Wels accuses GM of acting "purely in self-interest".

"Hatred for the Grave-Diggers of Detroit" (German link) is how the Sueddeutsche Zeitung titled their article about the anti-GM demonstrations that occurred today (11/5/2009) in the town of Ruesselsheim. Though the link is to a German article, you might enjoy clicking on it and then scrolling down until you see the slideshow consisting of six photos of the demonstration. Click that first photo and I'll take you through the photos with some translation where necessary. Hopefully they haven't changed up the photos by the time you read this.

  1. The yellow shirt simply says, "We are Opel". Note that all labor demonstrations in Germany are dominated by the red flags that always make me think of Leninism.
  2. This photo needs no commentary!
  3. The sign on the lady's hat reads "Freedom for the slaves of GM."
  4. The finger sign reads "Keep your hands off our Opel!" (The German is literally "finger away" rather than "hands off.")
  5. I wasn't joking when I mentioned cowboy boots earlier. I think the message here is clear: the cowboy boot of American capitalism is crushing Opel.
  6. The sign that is flipping off GM says "Get out!"
  7. Uninteresting.
  8. The sign on the upper left reads "Don't let Opel die" and on the upper right "Yes we Can -- better without GM."

Now all of you have been thinking throughout this whole article, "Are they nuts? GM is not 'capitalism.' It's socialism!" All German commentators whom I've come across so far are conveniently ignoring this fact. A few have mentioned that the U.S. government under world darling President Barack Obama owns the largest chunk of GM, but, funnily enough, they haven't elaborated on that: it doesn't fit the message.

Obama Must Recognize Evil

Publisher's Note: My friend, Norman Gersman of New York, has accepted my invitation to write a guest essay. It is my honor to publish it here:

*****

My wife and I enjoyed a dinner with another couple about two weeks before the election. We had all agreed before hand that when we discussed politics it would be kept civil with no name calling so we could stay friends. They are Obama supporters, Israel supporters, and active in their synagogue. When the issue of Obama and Israel came up I was assured over and over again that Obama would support Israel. Israel has nothing to worry about. The fact that Obama hung for many years with people who looked forward to a Palestinian victory was of no importance. “Don’t worry” I was told.

I had a telephone conversation just a few days ago with one member of this same couple and was told that they think Israel could have began Operation Lead Cast now, before the end of current President’s term of office, because Israel is not sure of Obama’s support. I asked: “you told me that Obama will support Israel, so why should Israel worry?” The response was: “we think Obama will support Israel, but we are really not sure what he will do or say.” I ended the conversation quickly before I could say something regrettable. They think, do they ... so flippant when millions of lives are at stake. My anger has not subsided.

So now our President-Elect has returned from his vacation in Hawaii to the cold gray skies of Washington D.C. He must realize that a huge chunk of the American electorate is waiting to find out where he will take American foreign policy in the Middle East, but Obama fails to say a word. He says that we have only one President at a time and therefore it is not appropriate for him to say anything until he is President. Yeah, right. His failure to speak on this issue is a loud and clear statement in itself. This is a clueless man, who now having won the Presidency only has a tiger by its tail.

I look forward to how Obama deals with an organization like Hamas and its leaders. I don’t think he realizes that the leaders of Hamas are not rational people like most of us. Negotiations and truces are instruments to be used only to further their aim of Israel’s destruction. “There is no solution for the Palestinian people except Jihad” states the covenant that created Hamas. This is a bloodthirsty organization that rules over its own people by intimidation, death and the barrel of a gun. I think that Obama will fail to recognize their evil, or the evil of radical Islam to the western world.

Israel will not fall if the Obama administration fails to support her. My only fear is that Israel will lose its humanity if forced to stand alone with no allies. When a catastrophe occurs anywhere in the world Israel is always among the first to offer and send equipment, medicine, people ... whatever is needed to help.

Today, Israel fights a war with both hands tied behind its back to limit civilian casualties. I just read that Israel is using a sound bomb just to scare people away from a building before it is destroyed. At some point Israelis will fight with both hands and we shall lose a compassionate people, they will become hard.

A failure by Obama to recognize evil and destroy Hamas will mean that America and the free world will be leaderless during the next four years. Our ship of state will crash upon some big rocks. It is time for the President-Elect to take a stand .... now. We must know if our leader has a moral compass.
