That's pretty "suite." And he's getting his 15 minutes, so what the heck?
After outbattling a crazed bleacher crowd to snag the historic homer, Christian Lopez returned the ball Saturday to Jeter - passing up a possible six-figure payday for the irreplaceable memento.
"I'm going to give it to Derek," Lopez announced on the Yankee Stadium video board during the eighth inning - prompting the type of ovation typically reserved for Jeter.
"I got to see history in the making, and now I'm part of history," he said.

Well he didn't leave empty handed. From what I read, the yankees gave him season tickets for the rest of this season and a lot of other goodies. Maybe not enough to make up for what he might have received for the ball, but then thats speculation.
Of the lucky guy didn't have time to consider what the ball might be worth. Im betting he does ok even without the six figures for the ball.
A few tickets and stuff just wouldn't be worth it to me.
I would have SOLD it back to Jeter! WTF, he's loaded and could afford it. Gotta think up ways to make money these days, and that guy def. didn't have his thinking cap on...maybe he drank too much beer?
Very dumb move, I'd say, but that's my opinion.
