A liberal protester at the “One Nation Working Together” march physically assaulted a HUMAN EVENTS reporter who was videotaping Rep. Charlie Rangel (D.-N.Y) at the event at the National Mall in Washington, D.C.More at Memeorandum. And especially Nice Deb: "More 'Tea Party Violence'."
The reporter, Emily Miller, was first hit from behind while she was taping Rangel as the Harlem congressman glad-handed supporters in front of the Lincoln Memorial. Miss Miller is heard on the video saying, “Please don’t hit me.” The protester proceeds to yell at the reporter, “Well get out of the way! What do you think this is? A--hole.” The activist was attempting to meet Rangel herself. Miss Miller continued videotaping the event, when suddenly the same unhinged protester lunged at her, hit her on the arm, and yelled, “Don’t take my picture.”

HUMAN EVENTS Reporter Assaulted at Socialist 'One Nation' Rally

It does seem that the Left, Democrats and the Obama administration are committing one unforced error over and over again. This whole "Trashing America," both literally and figuratively, rally was one BIG unforced error. Where was the enthusiasm? It looked like most of those forced to attend came late and left early.
I enjoyed another Dem calling a Senate seat a _______democrat's seat. You would have thought they would have learned from Scott Brown's election. The example of unforced errors just grows exponentially.
Attacking a reporter is not just bad it is politically tone deaf. Just how do these people think this is going to appear and be used by the opposition? Unfortunately that is the only consistent tactic the Left exhibits. That and substituting pejoratives for a well reasoned analysis of why their ideas should be considered.
What was the original reason many on the Left moved away from obvious violence in the first place? They were losing the support of large numbers of the American people. It is interesting that once they are under pressure to produce they go right back to doing the very thing that lost them any sway with the people. Bad habits need to be replaced with good habits in order to progress. Something the Left seems wholly incapable of accomplishing for it was always only a charade.
Not to overstate, but I rather enjoyed the "Trashing America" rally. What better defining moment and demonstration of the Left. To paraphrase, "More red flags, socialist/communist placards and papers, more disrespect for the American people and their capitol, et al PLEASE."
Emily Miller has enough evidence to press charges. I'd say REAP, aggravated assault, simple assault, and harassment.
I would NOT take this abuse from anyone - In fact, the same happened to me and the perpetrator, John Meicht, was found guilty.
