In the 18 months since President Bush announced the surge, our troops have performed heroically in bringing down the level of violence. New tactics have protected the Iraqi population, and the Sunni tribes have rejected Al Qaeda — greatly weakening its effectiveness.I do not hate this president. But he brings deep shame to the role of Commander-in-Chief. And that shame is seen one more time with this weekend's White House announcement on the end of U.S. combat operations in Iraq. IMHO, Obama just lies when he claims to be upholding the "sacred trust" of our fighting men and women. It takes more than winning an election to win that trust -- you have to earn it. That said, folks may have different emotions than I do. But I think we can agree that getting the Democrats out of power in 2010 and 2012 will begin the process of restoring American power in the world. I cringe at the thought of this sick ACORN-sleazeball presidential interloper directing the force and capabilities of the U.S. abroad. But time heals all wounds, and the electorate is rumbling:
But the same factors that led me to oppose the surge still hold true. The strain on our military has grown, the situation in Afghanistan has deteriorated and we’ve spent nearly $200 billion more in Iraq than we had budgeted. Iraq’s leaders have failed to invest tens of billions of dollars in oil revenues in rebuilding their own country, and they have not reached the political accommodation that was the stated purpose of the surge.

As long as the GOP doesn't manage to screw this up (a distinct possibility at all times) 2010 could be the start of something really cool in America...the breaking down of Obama's legacy.
Why shouldn't you hate this President? He lied in front of god and the world when he pledged to protect and defend the constitution he is breaking. He is not a Natural Born Citizen even if born in the White House on the 4th of July, since his father was never a citizen. Obama admits that, at birth, his citizenship was "governed" by Britain, since his father was Kenyan and subject to the British Naturalization Act 1948. Even Laurence Tribe unwittingly told the truth when he said that a Natural Born Citizen is one "born WITHIN a nation's territory AND ALLEGIANCE". Obama owed allegiance at birth to Britain, so he was not WITHIN the allegiance of the US. Get a clue.
Donald doesn’t hate Obama because he rightly focuses on issues at hand. Hate-mongering of Bush, before, and now Obama, obfuscates any rational illumination of the work left to do. Further, beating the dead horse of Obama’s citizenship is just so much last week wringing of hands. He’s our president, let’s move on to real and present dangers domestically and internationally.
Dealing with reality is becoming near impossible in the political maelstrom of Republicans and Democrats talking past each other instead of to each other.
My disappointment with the president right now is that he appears to be over his head, and, thus, defaults to playing politics; the framing of every issue as if it is under control. I tell my democratic friends, Obama needs to quickly get the guts of a Truman. Then, there might be some confidence restored that we are not being sold a bill of goods instead of the rhetoric, a. it’s Bush’s fault; b. it could be worse c. “it’s getting better.”
Any success in Iraq is not Obama’s to revel in. The failure of Afghanistan is neither Obama’s success nor his failure. It took a lot of failed and corrected policies in both wars, and able generals adjusting in the field, to get us to what fragile stability we currently have. It would be so refreshing to hear Obama admit that.
Yeah, get a clue... Bwahahahaha! He's on your team, Don.
Uhh, Mick... Hawaii was a state in 1961, as in one of the United States of America.
JD: Regardless of where he was born, in 1968 after his father died his mother married an Indonesian man and renounced US citizenship for herself, Barack and his sister. Barack claimed Indonesian citizenship to get foreign-student aid at Harvard. So which is it? Did he LIE about his Indonesian citizenship in his Harvard applications, or did he LIE about his US citizenship during his Presidential campaign?
