Turns out that the DownWithTyranny! progressives are invoking revolutionary appeals again. A ten-point roster of GOP quotes on the unemployed and public benefits actually ends with Marie Antoinette's famous line, "Let them eat cake." And then the progressive response:
Now we know that Marie Antoinette was expressing the modern-day Republican philosophy centuries in advance. And what happened to her? This is another one of those times where I take progressives at their word. Republicans aren't Bourbons, but radical leftists would love the same dénouement:

The misnamed "Progressives" are as ignorant of history as anything else. Marie Antoinette never said "Let them eat cake," it was an anti-royalist piece of propaganda. Let them start a revolution...!
Three years ago I stood next to the spot where Marie Antoinette was guillotined, a despicable act of a radical mob of human trash. It was at the Place de la Concorde, then renamed Place de la Revolution. Where the guillotine once stood now stands the Obelisk of Luxor, a gift to France from Egypt in 1829.
