Electric Eel

I just learned something about electric eels. Turns out they can generate a electrical current "capable of producing a shock at up to 500 volts and 1 ampere of current (500)." (600 according to National Geographic.). That's enough to kill a human being, and it certainly put the lights out of this alligator [crocodile?] looking for an afternoon meal. Nature is endlessly fascinating. It really is a jungle out there.

I think the clip's labeled incorrectly. That looks more like a croc than an alligator, and although my Portuguese is still in its infancy and the man is speaking an Africanized version of the language, I'm pretty sure he refers to it as a croc.

I think some of the commenters at the YouTube refer to it as crocodile as well.

Seems the croc holds on for a very long time. Amazing to see the eel so close to the croc/gator.

Poor croc. He was just looking for a meal and it turned out to be a hot one!
