Thank you, Donald. I went to the store today and had two people already say to me, reaching out to shake my hand, “Thank you for your service.” Startled, I had forgotten I was wearing my Air Force veteran’s (Viet Nam era) hat this morning. Those sentiments mean a lot. Even from strangers.
You're welcome, Rusty.
Thanks for the drop by Donald...enjoy Veterans Day.
You too, Pat. Have a great day!
On the one hand, as a veteran, I am always glad to see the Nation stop and honor all who served. Seriously, it means a lot.
On the other hand my heart breaks for our soldiers who are forced to serve under Obama. No honor, no integrity, no real concern for the soldiers and Marines...and to top it off, he never served.
To all veterans, be they current, past, or passed: Thank you very much. You did what few will do, and I appreciate you all.
We have several local restaurants that are having free buffets for Veterans today. I am glad to be thanked but I am even more grateful to the veterans who actually faced enemy fire. This peacetime vet wants to say thank you to them as well.
Today, in the middle school class I taught (literature), we read a patriotic poem and discussed the significance of Veterans Day.
Several parents were present, and they obviously were learning about the day too. I rather imagine that these young parents have not had much exposure to the significance of the day -- instead, being more oriented to the Veterans Day sales in the stores.
Thank you, Donald, and I'll also thank you for my husband who is a Veteran.
I should have done a Veteran's Day post but have to admit I'm so angry about what happened at Ft. Hood it slipped my mind. I put up my post right after I got up this morning and it didn't dawn on me that it was Veteran's day until I was on my way to the Dentist's office! Oh well...
Thanks again. I love that picture!
Thanks for commenting, Donald!
You're a vet all around, Shoprat! Thanks for your service!
That's a great story, Always ...
Thanks for visiting!
Glad to be of help, RaDena, LOL!

You're welcome, Libby!
