Do not turn your cheeks away from God's children around the world. The refuge they seek is only possible by America's hand and yet there are so many who preach otherwise and proclaim conservative values. Isolationism is not a conservative value. Isolationism is a communist value. Closing our borders for "self interest" is oh so North Korea. Our economy would collapse and Obama would end up looking like a genius economist.

Actually, Stogie, I read Nikki as standing for values, especially against communists. More on that here.
Many in the Mid-east are of a culture that is foreign to practices the West--specifically America forfieted with the social upheavel of the counterculture. The children of the counterculture now constitute popular culture. The bankrupting of our system is not an accident. While i despise commies and despots, i also know better then to impose standards that no other culture can uphold.
We have no moral obligation to police the world.
