Miss California Not Backing Down on Gay Marriage

Miss California stands firm on her moral position that marriage is between one man and one woman. See Fox News, "Carrie Prejean Says Answer to Gay Marriage Question Cost Her Miss USA Crown":

Carrie Prejean told FOXNews.com that she had "no regrets" and was happy with the answer she gave when a Miss USA judge, the gossip blogger Perez Hilton, asked about her stance on same-sex marriage.

"I think that I believe that a marriage should be between a man and a woman," she said on the live broadcast. "No offense to anybody out there, but that's how I was raised."

One person who was offended was Keith Lewis, co-director the Miss California competition, which Prejean won to make it into the Miss USA pageant. Lewis told FOXNews.com that he was "saddened" by Prejean's statement.

"I am personally ... hurt that Miss California believes marriage rights belong only to a man and a woman," said Lewis in a statement.

Co-director Shanna Moakler, best know as Travis Barker's wife in the MTV reality show "Meet the Barkers," said that she fully supported Lewis' condemnation of Prejean's views.

Blogger Perez Hilton was also enraged, calling Prejean a "stuipd b***h" in a video tirade he aired on his blog.

But the backlash is having little affect on Prejean, 21, she says.

"I wouldn't have had it any other way. I stated an opinion that was true to myself, and that's all I can do," she told Billy Bush, who hosted Miss USA, on his radio talk show on Monday.

"It did cost me my crown," Prejean continued. "It is a very touchy subject and [Hilton] is a homosexual, and I see where he was coming from and I see the audience would've wanted me to be more politically correct. But I was raised in a way that you can never compromise your beliefs and your opinions for anything."

"I feel like I won," she said. "I feel like I'm the winner. I really do."
The quotes from Lewis, Moakler, and Perez perfectly encapsulate the left's hatred and bigotry toward people of traditional values. You just can't hold an opinion contrary to the secular progressive hordes in this country: They want her DEAD! They want her family DEAD! They want her house burned to the GROUND! They wanna go there in the middle of the night and PISS ON HER ASHES!

Not only did Prop 8 pass, but Obama is against gay marriage. I don't have anything in particular against it because it's none of my business, but the way its proponents are behaving might make me change my mind.

Isn't it amazing how intolerant the alleged tolerant are? What a bunch of frauds these useless pantywaist morons are indeed.

We have an expression in most parts of Texas (and it is all one word):

gitarope.

Well, I totally favor gay marriage as there are no sustainable reasons against. Note: sustainable. Even Obama will cave on gay marriage. (As did one of McCain's advisors last week!)

That said, I reserve my comments about those who are anti-gay and try to keep them reasonable. I accept that this is one of the last of the major prejudices and takes a lot of education to get us out of the morass of ignorance. Donald only adds fuel to the fire as he trolls for negative comments about those who make uh, negative comments based on fear and ignorance. It's a vicious circle indeed.

I do not support the radical left's approach to this issue, though. I believe in education, support, and the expansion of rights to those who deserve it. If it cannot be approached reasonably, then the extreme left deserves the criticism.

Tim, here's the fundemental flawsin your arguments. You relate this deviant behavior with rights granted to those of a different race. There is no such thing as gay rights. There is only the argument that whatever a person wants to do, they should be allowed to do, because it makes them feel good.

Such a feckless and arbitrary point of view is what has caused the moral and civil decay of the Civil Society. At one time in our history, Sodomy was a capitol crime. Currently, bestiality is a crime, as is polygamy.

Why is homosexuality, a blatent violation of natural law, a matter of rights and a persons desire to be married to multiple women/men not? Or the person who is sexually attracted to an animal? It makes him/her feel good, why then shouldn't they be allowed to do it? It is no more a violation of natural law than is homosexual conduct.

Sexual intercourse's main function is procreation. Both homosexuality and bestiality are violations against this purpose and therefore equally deviant.

What about the Islamic practice of Marrying children to grown men? Shouldn't this be embraced also? If so, then the pediphiles shouldn't be prosecuted either. Moral relativism is the basis for all societal de-evolution in the Civil Society.

Further, Marriage was and is a sacred pact. Used for the procreation of the species, it maintains support and defense of the next generation. Homosexuals by definition can add nothing to the next generation, therefore have no rights to this sacred union.

Fairness is a smokescreen for moral relativism, hatred a mask for those without a cogent argument.

Greywolfe: I stopped reading your response after the words "deviant behavior" appeared.

You do not warrant a response, but you do need some education.

Greywolfe said...

Tim, that's the typical response from the radical left, you don't like it? Ignore the argument. You keep speaking of the radical left as if it were seperate from you, then you contradict it with your words and actions.

Here's the abridged version to save you the effort, Tim: "Queers is bad 'cause my God said me so."

You still wearing that hat, Greywolfe?

Greywolfe said...

So, JBW, you denigrate those that have a firm belief in the God of Abraham. What then, if you do not believe in the laws of nature and the God of nature, do you base your rights on?

Our founders felt that unalienable rights were given by Providence, by God himself. If his laws don't mean anything, then your freedoms are only as unalienable as your government wants to make them.

Sorry to try to make rational statements when you are busy spewing drivel, but I thought I'd try.

She lost because she received an education rather than a leftist brainwashing that is going on in far too many schools and in the media. These clowns won't be happy until everyone has been brainwashed into thinking like they want them too.

JBW said...

Greywolfe, I totally "denigrate those that have a firm belief in the God of Abraham". Then I make fun of people who say things like "the God of Abraham". Ha-ha, he said Nelson-ly.

I base my rights on the fact that I'm a living and sentient being existing in this universe. I require no more from others and they should require no more from me. I don't need a magical sky-man nor any governmental body to recognize this fact.

I don't know what aliens our founders were talking to but if they thought that a magical super-god was responsible for our winning the Revolutionary War then obviously I disagree with them, as I assume a number of dead soldiers would as well.

Just as a tangent, this is the second time today you've used the phrase "spewing drivel" speaking about me. Did you get a word of the day calender or are you just being intellectually lazy? Thrall me with your acumen.

shoprat, start thinking like I want you to right now, I'm not even kidding. And she obviously lost because of her poor showing in the talent competition. That was the worst juggling I've ever seen.

Greywolfe said...

JBW, I use the word drivel for two reasons. 1. it's the first thing that comes to mind when I see your initials come up, and 2. you really aren't worth me coming up with new material.

Greywolfe: If I were a quantum theorist, arguing a point with another colleague who could not do a simple multiplication table, why would I bother trying to further my point of view?

You have to fundamentally understand the issue at hand before you can contribute Greywolfe. It is not "deviant behavior." It simply is what it is. Ten percent of the population are also left handed...they are not deviant. But there was a time when they were treated as such and forced to write with their right hand. But we learned, we moved on...

We used to think --KNOW-- that the sun revolved around the Earth. We learned, we moved on...

We used to think that homosexuals were deviants (Some are, sure--and so are some heteros. Not the issue.) We learned, we moved on...Except, those with a more conservative, traditionalist viewpoint who refuse to move on. Their argument boils down to the fact that their feelings might get hurt if gay people have a right they enjoy (and abuse, at the rate of 50%).

Greywolfe--I have no issue with your religion. It's yours. Own it. But when you impose it upon me, I object. The God of Abraham is a powerful God. He's also vengeful, vain and desirous of regular sacrifices upon an altar (which is what they were built for in the first place). I assume you still perform these ritual sacrifices, as laid out in the first five books of the bible?

Because if not, perhaps you have...learned, and move on...?

Peace.

JBW said...

Oh no, Greywolfe is becoming redundant because of little old me! Who am I to deny the world the incredible originality of someone who hates teh gays? And incidentally, I was referring to the word "spew"...

Tim, you're a sharp guy and I like you but, really? Have you read the things this guy has written before? You're wasting your time speaking logically to an intellectual dinosaur. He'll die someday and then there'll be one less bigoted, religious zealot in the world. Until then, just point and laugh. Patience.

Tim said...

JBW: You're right of course. I have even tried to point that out here before.

I always hold out hope that someone, somewhere, who holds a neanderthal viewpoint, can still be edumecated. It's my liberal bias I guess.

It probably ain't gonna be Greywolfe, but I give him some points for potential. Stranger things have happened. After all, Donald was a swingin' liberal before 9/11.

I still say it was her juggling but everyone knows that the Miss America pageant has been rigged for years. It became apparent when the liberal media asked Miss South Carolina that gotcha geography question a few years back.
