Carrie Prejean Nude Picture Scandal!

I just got word from Robert Stacy McCain that Miss California Carrie Prejean has been exposed as having posed nude!

MSNBC has the story, "
Miss California: I’ll fight on despite racy photos":

With partially nude photos of her popping up on Web sites questioning her Christian credentials, Miss California USA Carrie Prejean has fired back, claiming the racy pictures are just modeling shots and vowing to continue her battle against same-sex marriage.

“I am a Christian, and I am a model,” Prejean said in a statement released overnight to the media. “Models pose for pictures, including lingerie and swimwear photos. Recently, photos taken of me as a teenager have been released surreptitiously to a tabloid Web site that openly mocks me for my Christian faith. I am not perfect, and I will never claim to be.”

But Alicia Jacobs, a judge at the April 19 Miss USA pageant during which Prejean made her highly publicized statement opposing same-sex marriage, said the pictures go beyond what the Miss California pageant says are appropriate.

“I can assure you they were quite inappropriate, and certainly not photos befitting a beauty queen,” Jacobs, a reporter for NBC’s Las Vegas affiliate, told NBC News.

The images may also hurt her status as a spokeswoman for conservative causes. “She can continue to advocate for causes, but I don’t think these causes are going to advocate for her,” Ken Baker of E! News told NBC.
Yeah, well, nobody's perfect, as they say. But I agree: It's pretty hard to be a spokesperson for traditional values when you're stripping down for racy lingerie shots.

I love Carrie Prejean, and she'll weather the storm, but it's just one more case of human frailty in the eyes of God, and no doubt the nihilist leftists will rush to hold her up as a poster girl for the "hypocrisy" of the fundamentalist right.

See
here and here for more details. Ms. Prejean's "modeling" shot is here.

I don't see a thread yet at
Memeorandum, but just wait. I'd bet this will be the leading story by late this afternoon, and I'll update at that time!

Big Hat Tip: Robert Stacy McCain.

UPDATE: There's a Memeorandum thread now. Also blogging, Moe Lane, Red State, Flopping Aces, AmSpecBlog, and Taki's Magazine.

And what's the big deal? Why is it people think that Christians walk on water anyway?

PRH said...

Amazing..according to no talent hacks like Keith Oldblowaman, and every queer ranger in the union, Carrie is the worst person to come down the pike in this new century. These perverts need to look only in the mirror and see whom is headed to Hell.

PRH said...

and b-t-w, she has a pretty sweet looking butt for a Christian girl...who would you rather look at, her, or that fat fruitcake Perez Hilton in the buff?

That is a nude photo?

LOL-Not by my standards. Not even close.

I think this is all a really big nothing.

I would like to point out that in point of fact, she's not showing anything that her swimsuit in her competition.

Its a big deal becasue many of them talk and act like they do. They are just better than people that don't believe in the same things they do. They do the same stupid crap everyone else does. And I am a Christian so I have seen this. I don't like being aroud them.

Greywolfe said...

Now that my primers in sentence structure and typing are complete.... Let me take another stab.

First, she was 17. Second, she didn't show anything here that she didn't show during her swimsuit competition. And third, how does her in a pair of panties take away from her message that Marriage is a purely heterosexual institution?

Everything else is just a distraction from the fact that she had the big, hairy, brass cajones to stand up in front of a bunch of people and tell how she really felt about a very difficult topic (considering she's in the land of the fruit, the nut, and the flake)

Anonymous said...

Actually that is more than the swimsuite. She is showing side boob. And I'm sorry at 17 she knows what she is doing.

I don't want to vilify her, but all the praising of her is a bit annoying too.

Righty64 said...

That is it?! I do not think that it is a big deal in the least. I have seen worse on Cosmo covers in the supermarket. BTW, did anyone take a peek at her in the swimsuit competition? I think I saw more cleavage in that than this. Remember, the left loves to humiliate those that do take a stand as she has done. THIS has nothing to do with her position on same-sex marriage. And, FTR, I am with PRH. I would much rather look at Carrie than Mario.

When mine godly eyes did gaze upon that obscene photograph, I fainted straight away. My kin had to fan me with a Holy Bible so as to rouse me.

This is hilarious and I got your comment off Memeorandum as you predicted! When Beavis and Perez H. and other gender-challenged freaks of nature screech apostasy about the norms of God and nature, I will always remember Carrie Jean as the Real California, the majority that voted Gay Marriage as unconstitutional and/or disgusting in the recent plebiscite.

The sports of nature on the identity-challenged left are humorously humorless in not noticing their own weirdness.

Dennis said...

I am beginning to wonder who are the prudes here. My goodness this is nothing and it is hardly obscene by any standards.
As others have stated, this has absolutely nothing to do with whether shes a christian or whether she believes marriage is between a man or a woman.
Vanessa needs to get a life. Some sales catalogues are almost as reveling as this photograph. I see more than this at the mall and no one says a word least of all leftists.
Oh horrors of horrors, I watched the Travel Channel and I saw women without any clothes on at all. Can't you just see all of the leftists running out to put clothing on these women.
Somebody needs to show me where this picture is explicitly determined to be a sin except in radical Islam.
One wonders whether the left does have more in common with the radical Islamists and their desire to denigrate the human female body or is it just something else?

Ummm...I suppose it's bad form to ask where she might have posed nude.

Dave said...

The fascist statists now in charge will brook no dissent of any kind.

Anyone who criticizes them, or those they control-like Perez Hilton, are going to be dealt with harshly.

These people are not interested in discourse or debate. They are only interested in stifling dissent.

In their little minds, Carrie Prejean is a dissenter, and if they cannot outright destroy her, they will do all they can to discredit her.

If you doubt this, Look up Rush Limbaugh, Joe Wurzelbacher, Sean Hannity, Rick Santelli, etc.

In the New Amerika, which is being created right before our very eyes, dissent, in any form, will not be tolerated.

Thanks Dennis I have one.

And it doesn't matter whats worse. She showing her boob. Someone said the swimsuite was worse. I say its not. And I'm not saying shes all porno. The idea is miss America's aren't suppose to do this and Christians under their own morals shouldn't be posing nude.

I really don't care. I'm just pointing out all the contradictions with this whole thing.

human frailty in the eyes of GodOoh la la.

I think that the photo is not in poor taste. Topless yes... Porn no.....

"...Christians under their own morals shouldn't be posing nude. ..."

And why not, Vanessa? We're not Puritans, are we? We don't try to ban all forms of entertainment in the universe, including smiling on Sundays, do we?

Where in the Bible does Christianity ban nudity?

Anonymous said...

And furthermore, Vanessa, who are You to be telling Christians what They should be doing "on their own morals"? Judging by your choice of words, you are not a Christian, so, to take a page out of the Left's playbook: "Don't try to force your beliefs on me!"

Anonymous said...

I don't need to defend myself against a nameless person.

Again her act doesn't offend me, but its the preaching then doing somthing that doesn't fall under the preaching. Being a "good" Christian is not selling your namked body for money some men or woman can look at it. I don't really find what she did poronographic, but it works the same for guys. Why do guys look at this? I know you know the answer to that.

No one is perfect and no matter our religions we all make mistakes. I'll repeat I don't like that SOME have the better than you attitude.

I think we are getting away from the post, but please don't tell me I'm not a certain religion.

You guys are great. This was really entertaining, thank you. From "no talent hacks like Keith Oldblowaman, and every queer ranger in the union" to "Beavis and Perez H. and other gender-challenged freaks of nature" to "the New Amerika, which is being created right before our very eyes", it's like someone wrote a script full of cliched, right-wing haters spewing hilariously predictable garbage just for me to read. Top notch.

A few things: speaking for my corner of the left, Prejean and every other chick anywhere nearly as hot as she should be taking more pictures like this (and posting them online) regardless of their political affiliations. I'm always down for more skin; religious, conservative prudes on the right are the reason CBS got fined over half a million bucks for showing Janet Jackson's dirty, dirty, middle-aged tittie. Apparently the moral degradation of America isn't hastened along by nudity and sex quite so fast however when an anti-gay mouthpiece is the purveyor.

Also, interviewing and actually taking seriously people like Prejean who are famous merely for being good-looking is as dumb as interviewing and actually taking seriously professional athletes. I'm sure a few of them are smart, interesting people but the majority are obviously idiots who've never had to use their brains because genetics granted them incredible bodies instead. "Opposite marriage"? Please...

Anonymous said...

You may not feel like defending yourself "from some nameless person on the Internet" but in Not defending your Attack on someone who just Happened to make a statement that you apparently don't agree with, several years after doing some modeling that you Also apparently don't agree with, are weakening your position.

So, please, tell us all upon what you base your definition of a "good Christian."
I am waiting. And I'm sure I'm not the only one.

Anonymous said...

A good christain is being a morally good person who lives to please God. A good Christian goes to church and follows what the church preaches. Selling your body for money is not morally good if ask most christians.

By the way I don't really care that she thinks gays shouldn't marry. I don't like that attitude of my way is the best and my wrongs are ok because I'm a victim.

Anonymous said...

I have not really paid any attention to this whole deal...it did not effect me at all.

But I now see how extremist and hateful some homosexuals are just because she answered a question at some stupid contest.

She has the same viewpoint as our president. The bigger deal you guys make about this, the more famous she gets and the worse you look.

Anonymous said...

I'll agree with that. I'm tired of it on all ends. Shes getting villified by the left, but the right is making her out to be some genuis who has great moral values.

I'm going to go get some implants, pose nude, and say how silly gay people are. I need my fifteen minutes of fame.

be sure to send okiepatriot a pic and I'll help you get your 15 vanessa (wink)

Again her act doesn't offend me, but its the preaching then doing somthing that doesn't fall under the preaching.I don't know much about her at all, but where has she preached? Has she specifically spoken out against modeling in revealing, suggestive outfits?

Being a "good" Christian is not selling your namked body for money some men or woman can look at it.This is odd to me, because by whose standards are you judging her level of commitment to her faith? As anon said earlier, "we're not puritans, are we?"

It reminds me of conservatives who insist they know how a true Muslim should act and behave and call a non-fundamentalist an apostate or "not a real Muslim" because they don't practice the Robert Spencerian version of the Koran.

Another point: It's not hypocritical for a "moralizing conservative" to "preach" about morality, then fall short of it himself. That's not hypocrisy unless he is intentionally saying one thing while doing another. If he in fact is trying to live up to his standards and falls short of them, it's not hypocrisy; it's just moral failing. Christians (the stereotypical kind you envision as moralizers telling others how to behave) are setting the bar high for themselves, but at least they're setting a bar and trying to live up to it.

Because they fall short...that's a source for ridicule? I don't get it.

Of course there are those others who are indeed hypocrites and deserve derision. I just don't see how Prejean fits the mold, unless I've missed something.

No one is perfect and no matter our religions we all make mistakes.
Which is exactly what she stated in regards to herself:

“I am a Christian, and I am a model,” Prejean said in a statement released overnight to the media. “Models pose for pictures, including lingerie and swimwear photos. Recently, photos taken of me as a teenager have been released surreptitiously to a tabloid Web site that openly mocks me for my Christian faith. I am not perfect, and I will never claim to be.”I'll repeat I don't like that SOME have the better than you attitude.Agreed; but I don't think the "holier than thou" attitude is exclusive to religious conservatives. Liberals preach their morality just as fervently; and some fall short of living up to their own beliefs, as well.

Guys and gals, dotcha yah know? This is the new hip way to promote "traditional marriage"......to prance around semi-nude for money.

yaaahhhh, more boobies for all

suweeeet.

Praise Jesus

JBW said...

Wordsmith, I hear you. I assume that the point that Vanessa is trying to make is that if you fail to live up to your own personal morality bar, then you shouldn't make a practice of criticizing others for having the same shortcomings as yourself.

Glass houses, stones, and all of that Christian rhetoric...

Greywolfe, I know that based on our history you are reluctant to respond to my requests but I truly am still curious about your (spoiler-free, of course) take on Wolverine. I have plans to see it Thursday morning with some buddies. Again, please expound.

Dennis said...

Quite frankly I do not see the "living up to one's own morality bar" meme. Again where does it explicitly state that this kind of rather tame photograph is against christian precepts? The real hypocrisy here is those who are always talking about tolerace always being intolerant.

Tim said...

Actually, it's about breaking a contract. Prejean is limited to what she can and cannot do as Miss California, and she has to sign a contract confirming her past behaviors.

I have nothing against her, I have everything against the twits who used her as a spokesperson for their silly cause. Never lionize someone like this, because it will backfire on you. Paging Sarah Palin.

Look, she posed in some sexy shots (big deal), and she has been used in ad campaigns against "opposite marriage." She broke a few rules. That's all.

The Christianity thing here is not the issue. The hypocrisy is. By just about everyone.

Anonymous said...

Ok we can agree not agree on anything. The end

Tim said...

As Donald elevates these idiots as spokespeople for his cause, I'm reminded of his other buddy, Joe the Plumber. Here's Ja recent quote from Joe on gays in general:

"I've had some friends that are actually homosexual. And, I mean, they know where I stand, and they know that I wouldn't have them anywhere near my children. But at the same time, they're people, and they're going to do their thing."

Some of us wouldn't allow Joe the Plumber near their kid either, so I guess we are even.

While we may not agree on every issue, we should show respect for others' opinions and not try to silence them through vicious and mean-spirited attacks."

If this is a nude photo, then the people who are disseminating this photo are guilty of distributing child pornagraphy and I want those perverts prosecuted. If is not pornography then it is no big deal. They can't have it both ways.

Honestly, why does this seem like a shocker for people? Anyone on that Miss USA Pageant are hiding scandalous photos or videos of themselves somewhere --- heck, even Disney kids are doing it !

I think the real shocker for myself is that there is all the right for her to keep her crown ! And this was all because Donald Trump was backing her --- oh yeah, like no one saw that coming.

Miss USA is supposed to be a role model for young girls --- maybe even sexually confused boys --- but this picture, THOUGH NOT NUDE, sends out a wrong message to young girls out there, who easily follow media trends nowadays.

Sure, we can debate that the swimsuit and almost nude photo are completely around same standards, so why bother making an issue? Because with the swimsuit, she was doing it for beauty out of modesty. The other photo, was to get men ranched up and sell her body. She was seventeen, and by seventeen you know what you're doing --- and when we look at other girls who do scandalous things we simply shake our heads in shame and rant about it --- why should she be any different? Just because she has a crown? Please, you get shamed in the pageant industry for things like that --- why not her? Because she has ... -coughs- tight relations with Mr. Trump? Oh yeah, let's all be friends with Donald Trump so when a sex video comes out he'll defend us saying: "She/He was honest to her/himself."

It may seem like it's not a big deal, but when you publicly criticize people and when you publicly act like a holy messenger of god, then posing around flamboyantly in a grotesque manner, completely not what you were supposed to be all about --- well, that's a little hypocritical, don't you think? If anyone should be called a hypocritical prude, it should be Miss Carrie Prejean --- oh, the dream of USA.

it is all right i hope that she will get through it! its been a rough time for her so i wish her good luck!

Carrie Prejean is a class act all the way around. And strong, vocal Christians can expect to be abused by this media, as long as it remains owned and operated by those who follow a religion that hates Christianity. Could that be any more obvious?

The media attack on Christian culture and values continues, and Christian people still pay for cable TV... kind of like lambs on the way to slaughter.

Really people, you need to turn off your TV sets and stop paying for this garbage.
