Democratic Stimulus Funds Go to Perv-Porno Promotions: 'Four Men, Three Women and a Gorilla'

From Fox News, "
Stimulus Bill Funds Go to Art Houses Showing 'Pervert' Revues, Underground Pornography: Emergency Gants Fom the National Endowment for the Arts May Be Going to Help Fund Nude Simulated-Sex Dances, Saturday Night "Pervert" Revues and the Airing of Pornographic Horror Films at Art Houses in San Francisco":

Talk about a stimulus package.

The National Endowment for the Arts may be spending some of the money it received from the Recovery and Reinvestment Act to fund nude simulated-sex dances, Saturday night "pervert" revues and the airing of pornographic horror films at art houses in San Francisco.

The NEA was given $80 million of the government's $787 billion economic stimulus bill to spread around to needy artists nationwide, and most of the money is being spent to help preserve jobs in museums, orchestras, theaters and dance troupes that have been hit hard by the recession.

But some of the NEA's grants are spicing up more than the economy. A few of their more risque choices have some taxpayer advocates hot under the collar, including a $50,000 infusion for the Frameline film house, which recently screened Thundercrack, "the world's only underground kinky art porno horror film, complete with four men, three women and a gorilla."

"When you spend so much money in a short amount of time ... you're going to have nonsense like this, and that's why the stimulus should never have been done in the first place," said David Williams, vice president for policy at Citizens Against Government Waste.

Click here for a full list of all of the NEA's Recovery Act grants.

Williams said such support for the arts is a luxury at a time when the president and Congress have been telling the public to make sacrifices to manage the recession.

"When taxpayers see this, they realize that's just a bunch of hot air," he told

Some members of Congress raised alarms as the stimulus bill was being drafted and approved, but President Obama, while admitting there were problems with the $787 billion legislation, stressed the need for immediate action to resuscitate the economy.

"We can't afford to make perfect the enemy of the absolutely necessary," Obama said at the time.

But he presumably didn't intend to have stimulus money help fund the weekly production of "Perverts Put Out" at San Francisco's CounterPULSE, whose "long-running pansexual performance series" invites guests to "join your fellow pervs for some explicit, twisted fun."

And gasp! Pamela shows some breasts!

No word yet from
chief Internet cop Dan Riehl. Who knows? Hey, maybe Dan likes art flicks! For sure the Democratic guys at American Nihilist are digging it!

Am I missing something here, Donald? The money went to an artsy movie theater, not a porn movie. And because this theater happened to show an artsy porn movie...what's the connection, exactly?

Looking at their website (link below), it looks like a legitimate movie theater. They show art movies, have film festivals, support small filmmakers, and promote art in movies; apparently with a gay orientation. What's the problem? Seriously, I'm not getting it. So, if I get a Cash for Clunkers car and start having sex with my pet falcon in the back seat, I suppose you think Obama's supporting bestiality? I could understand if you were outraged if the money went towards funding the studio that made the movie you're talking about. But it didn't. It went to a art theater, which happened to show this one artsy porn film. This is pathetic.

BTW, funding porn is also good stimulus, as it's money being spent to boost our economy. But of course, porn doesn't need funding, as it generally pays for itself. I bet this story alone will triple Thundercrack's revenues, at a minimum. Outrage sells.

Oh, and American Nihilists support all forms of porn, just as long as no one looks like they're enjoying themselves. Porn is for perversion, not pleasure. That's what nihilism is all about.

FOX and the grandstanding congressmen have got everyone duped. Check this out:

"naked gay California hippies are taking your money" [Jul. 31st, 2009|04:45 pm]

Fake right-wing decency outrage is nothing new, but I can't help taking this latest Fox News hootenanny more personally because I live in San Francisco and know some of the people involved. The problem here isn't just that the Fox journalites(*) are being hypocritical, since the Bush administration had no problem giving money to some of the same groups, etc. The problem is also that they got all the facts wrong, like really really really very wrong, either because they are dumb, or they're counting on their audience to be dumb, or they just don't care.

1. Frameline is not a "film house", or a movie production company. It's a foundation that supports lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender filmmakers through grants, distribution, and (most visibly) an annual international film festival that's quite a big deal. Since this is San Francisco, it's not a huge surprise when they throw in a revival showing of something raunchy like Thundercrack!, a no-budget cult movie from 1975 which one of these Fox chuckleheads seems to think is (a) new and (b) made by Frameline (c) on the government dime. To understand how bogus that description is, there's no need to be up to date on GLBT film history; reading the brochure for the festival or looking at their website would do just fine.

2. Perverts Put Out! is not a party(!) or a "nude sex dance" show (!!) (**) or a "web company" (!?). It's a reading. Writers stand in front of a microphone and read stories and poems. They're usually pretty dirty, and usually pretty funny. They don't get money from the government; CounterPulse, which provides the theater where they perform, does get money from the government but PPO doesn't get money from the theater either. They rent the place and give money to the theater -- it's a benefit. The more people buy tickets to see these writers tell dirty stories (for no pay), the less money the theater needs from other sources. If PPO were actually put on once a week (as the Fox chuckleheads claim), rather than every few months, and if 5,000 people went to see it instead of 50, CounterPulse might be entirely self-supporting -- or even give some money back to the government, so it could finally get that nice gun it's been saving up for!

(Note to Fox chucklehead who wonders, but doesn't really want to know, what "pansexual" means: it means they include writers with all kinds of sexual orientations. I realize it's no accident that the outrage-of-the-moment is all about The Gay, but you might be even more horrified to realize that there are straight people mixed up in these doings too.)

This kind of stuff would take about 10 seconds to find out on the Internet. Unfortunately, the speed of bullshit is hard to measure; it may even be infinite. Tune in next week for an ABC Special Report on how "some say" the infamous Pervline Partyhouse is spending all our stimulus money to make Internet gorilla porn.

Wow, reading Mark's comment makes the outrage even more embarrassing. I just based my comment on this post as well as a brief glance at their website, but it looks like there was even less to the story than that. I kind of wondered why a movie theater would be nonprofit with a .org url.

Will conservatives ever learn to think a little before going on the attack? They keep making Obama's job easier for him. By attacking everything, it makes any legitimate attack look illegitimate and no one will listen to them...not that I have a problem with that.

Wolf! Wolf, I say!
