Best Op-Ed Title Evah! - 'Copenhagen's Political Science'

Frankly, after all these years, I've never really looked at the phrase "political science" in quite the same way. From Sarah Palin, "Copenhagen's Political Science" (via Memeorandum):

With the publication of damaging e-mails from a climate research center in Britain, the radical environmental movement appears to face a tipping point. The revelation of appalling actions by so-called climate change experts allows the American public to finally understand the concerns so many of us have articulated on this issue.

"Climate-gate," as the e-mails and other documents from the Climate Research Unit at the University of East Anglia have become known, exposes a highly politicized scientific circle -- the same circle whose work underlies efforts at the Copenhagen climate change conference. The agenda-driven policies being pushed in Copenhagen won't change the weather, but they would change our economy for the worse.

The e-mails reveal that leading climate "experts" deliberately destroyed records, manipulated data to "hide the decline" in global temperatures, and tried to silence their critics by preventing them from publishing in peer-reviewed journals. What's more, the documents show that there was no real consensus even within the CRU crowd. Some scientists had strong doubts about the accuracy of estimates of temperatures from centuries ago, estimates used to back claims that more recent temperatures are rising at an alarming rate.

This scandal obviously calls into question the proposals being pushed in Copenhagen. I've always believed that policy should be based on sound science, not politics. As governor of Alaska, I took a stand against politicized science when I sued the federal government over its decision to list the polar bear as an endangered species despite the fact that the polar bear population had more than doubled. I got clobbered for my actions by radical environmentalists nationwide, but I stood by my view that adding a healthy species to the endangered list under the guise of "climate change impacts" was an abuse of the Endangered Species Act. This would have irreversibly hurt both Alaska's economy and the nation's, while also reducing opportunities for responsible development.
More at the link.

Governor Palin published "
The 'Cap And Tax' Dead End" at the Washington Post in July. Her expertise in energy policy and international environmental issues is substantial and growing, and the continuing rollout of her national role is going better than most analysts predicted last summer. NOTE that this is BIG trouble for Barack Obama. According to CNN, "Palin's popularity on the rise." The survey finds Palin at 46 percent approval rating, and that's just 1 point less that President Obama's approval in the latest Gallup poll, "After Brief Uptick, Obama Approval Slips to 47%."

Y'all hitch your wagon to the Palin express and enjoy the ride. She has the wonderful talent of having her ghost writers (for a sample of her own writing please see her hilarious resignation speech) preach to the choir in perfect pitch. I hope to God she's the GOP candidate for president in 2012. The entertainment value of that would be priceless. Will she whip out her birth certificate in a debate and demand Obama do the same? And she might be able to cite her own book when Katie asks her what she's read lately.

BIG trouble for Barack? I took a look at the CNN article you linked too and you forgot to mention this:

"Palin is still not as popular Al Gore and remains more unpopular than Joe Biden, but her favorable rating is much higher than Dick Cheney's," adds Holland.

At least she beats Cheney. Get a grip man. I know she's hot, but seriously...

I totally meant to come here to make fun of you Don but imagine my surprise when that seemed de rigueur. My secular-leftist nihilistic hordes are way too redundant for my tastes. Please ban at least one of them now.

Anonyous. Nonsense. Prove it. In any event, that imbecile Obama cannot even speak three coherent sentences when his teleprompter goes dead.

Hillary? Our "Vice President"? Kerry? What mental midgets. We now know that JFK was a poor student and all of his work was ghosted, including Profiles in Courage.

We heard the same slander out of you left-wing creeps about Reagan's writing, and we now know as a matter of fact that this is not true.

Glib and juvenile little assertions like "Y'all hitch your wagon to the Palin express and enjoy the ride" betray a shallowness of mind, a weak moral character and a flawed spirit, particularity given the gravity of the Communist/tranzi coup the Democrats are trying to foist on this nation.

Typical Commie: Avoid the argument and attack the person. Why cannot you deal with what she says? I will tell you why: You potions will not stand the light of day. They will not survive rational, sober, adult discourse.

As if you could accomplish one thousandth of what Palin has. You are grasping at straws to feed narcissism, vanity and jealousy.
It is wrong. It is sinful.
For your own sake stop it.

What a tool you are. Wake up before it is too late.

bobpapal: You are quoting a CNN article about Palin? How intellectually dishonest of you.

Why don't you just quote the ravings of the DNC?

You full well know that CNN is a pack of liars.

You ought to have a look at CNN's ratings. That is what you get when you are so out of the mainstream from decent Americans.

As the old story goes, "Please don't throw me in the brier patch." Not to toss water on some people who are convinced that they matter to Palin's prospects, but men are not the audience that Palin is playing to or trying to convince. Palin already has enough men to make her a viable candidate among them.
Leftist men are meaningless. Every comment the Left, especially Leftist men, makes them less of a factor. Just imagine how some of this plays with some of the women around Leftist men.
The audiences Palin is playing to is women. That is the core group she has to impress. Palin has only to gain a few more points, and her appearances will gain that, and she has all that she needs and the media and all the leftists caterwauling will mean absolutely NADA.
Watch what you wish for because it always comes back to bite you in the end.

I would hope that some of these people posting as anonymous might gain enough courage of their convictions to post as something that denotes them. I may not agree with JBW, but he states what he states as himself instead of hiding. That I can respect.

Gracias, Dennis. I, for one, have always liked your haircut.

Anonymous #2, I quoted the CNN article because that's the exact same source that Mr. Douglas used to make his point. I'm sure you also regard him as intellectually dishonest. Now inhale slowly and deeply, and get a grip on reality.
