No Christmas Presents for Malia and Sasha Obama: White House Nativity Scene Almost Got the Boot!

President and Mrs. Barack Obama do not give traditional Christmas gifts to their children. The Politico ran the story during last year's campaign, "Obama Leaves the Gifting to Santa":

Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) tells People magazine in the issue out Friday that he and his wife, Michelle, do not give Christmas or birthday presents to their two young daughters.
But on top of that, a story on Crashergate's Desiree Rogers indicates that the First Family was pushing for a "non-religious Christmas," but relented during internal debates on whether to display the holiday crèche (nativity scene) in the East Room at the White House.

See also, "No Christmas Presents for the Obama Kids this Year":

Unlike almost all Americans—including atheists—the Obamas do not give their children Christmas gifts. We know this because Barack bragged about this last year to People magazine. So it should come as no big surprise that he and his wife would like to neuter Christmas in the White House. That’s their natural step—to ban the public display of Christian symbols. Have any doubts?

Last April, Georgetown University was ordered to put a drape over the name of Jesus as a condition of the president speaking there.

If the Obamas want to deprive their children of celebrating Christmas, that is their business. It is the business of the public to hold them accountable for the way they celebrate Christmas in the White House. We know one thing for sure: no other administration ever entertained internal discussions on whether to display a nativity scene in the White House.

I hate to say it, but I find it hard to take it seriously when Obama says he's a Christian.

As a former community organizer he is used to the free gifts and toys donated by charities and tax payers. So in a weird way he does believe in Santa Claus but in his world Santa is the tax payer.

Caricatures, and you're their leader, Don. The height of blogging journalistic hackery is quoting from a source that you do not link back to because if you did then people could read this sentence just three lines below the one you quoted:

"Michelle Obama told People: “Malia says, ‘I know there is a Santa because there’s no way you’d buy me all that stuff.’ ”

So Santa brings the girls gifts. Figures, just one more foreigner Obama has let into the country. And hey, why miss yet another chance to tear the guy down for something trivial and petty, right? Christian hypocrites make me laugh.

Donald, Black Nationalism in America was influenced in the early days (1930's) by the teachings of Judge Rutherford, the then leader of the Jehovah's Witnesses. Jehovah's Witnesses do not celebrate Christmas and do not display Christian crosses. They also do not approve of patriotism or fighting in wars. The founder of the Black Nationalist group, the Nation of Islam, told his followers in the early days to listen to the apocalyptic sermons of Judge Rutherford. The doctrine of Obama's church is largely based on that of the Nation of Islam. So, I suspect that these habits of the Obamas stem from that early influence of the adventist Jehovah's Witnesses on Black Nationalists. Reading the history of Black Nationalism provides a lot of insight into Obama's beliefs and behavior.

Donald, when you know the history of Black Nationalists, it is little connections like this, though not very meaningful alone, that give you the impression that Obama is very much a believer in Black Nationalist doctrine (of Black Liberation Theology, in his case). When you understand what BLT is about, it is cause for great concern. Strongly suggest that you start reading about it.

The books of Elijah Muhammad or biographies about him would be a good start, such as:

An Original Man: The Life and Times of Elijah Muhammad, by Claude Andrew Clegg

Letting only Santa bring presents ... I'd be happy with that ... if I wasn't on the hook for the damn bill so President Jugears McTeleprompter can play Santa to the unions, friends, friends of unions, Friends of Hill & Hill, Axelrod's old firm, non-existent Congressional Districts, people who don't pay a dime in taxes ...

"President Jugears McTeleprompter".

Adriane, that was an even more scathing and intelligent observation than "the left is responsible for poverty". Truly, yours is an intellect worth noting.
