In case your only source of news is ABC, CBS, NBC and/or The New York Times or, as the White House was hoping, you were out doing things with your family this long weekend and didn't check the news (which was released after midnight Sunday so it wouldn't be in any papers) the green jobs "czar," special adviser to the president, Van Jones has resigned.
But here's The One Thing: My phone, e-mail and Twitter were hammered all weekend with people offering congratulations. First, let me say I'm not the one to congratulate. I can go on and on about this stuff, but if you don't care and it doesn't connect with the American people, what I say doesn't matter.
So let me start with the good news: You still have power and clout in Washington. In many cases, your representatives in Washington knew nothing about Van Jones. You were educating them and it wasn't until late last week that a few brave political people began to speak out.
But here's the bad news: When this came out and people started to say congratulations, my first response was: You still don't get it. This was a victory of sorts, but only for those playing political games. I'm not doing that and I don't think you are either.
You are trying to protect and defend the Constitution. President Obama was hoping that this would go away. One of the headlines from the Politico this weekend was: "Beck Up, Left Down."

I read the article a couple of times. Van Jones said this was a vicious smear campaign. Van Jones was able to resign, not be fired. And, during his resignation, he placed the blame on others, not himself.
What Van Jones doesn't understand is that I didn't bring down Van Jones; you didn't bring down Van Jones; Van Jones brought down Van Jones.
Is it a smear campaign to quote Van Jones' own words?

Nope... it's not a smear campaign, it's a truth campaign, and this administration can't stand the truth! Van Jones is gone but Beck's right... he's still a clear and present danger.
The next one that needs to go is Cas Sustein. He's just as dangerous as Van Jones. Beck is doing a marvelous job and I truly hope he has absolutely top notch security!

Sunstein is at least subject to confirmation where his ideas and writing can be scrutinized. It is the others who do not have this scrutiny that need to be exposed.
Being neither Democrat or Republican I want to know who these people are no matter their party affiliation. As Obama stated he should be judged by the people he has around him and I cannot do that without a through vetting of who they are and what they think.
Since that cannot be through our elected representatives then someone like Glen Beck, whether you like or dislike him, serves a useful purpose. It is a fact that you cannot trust the "media" to do the job since anyone who followed them would have be unaware as to Van Jone's predilections and philosophies and to the fact he resigned when he did. They have become so biased towards their own opinions that they have forfeited any trust or credibility.
If you do not like what Beck has to say then go out an find out for yourself. The internet is so full of information that no one has an excuse, especially the "media," for not knowing about Jones and his ilk. If Jones passed muster then what other rather bizarre ideas are floating around in this WH? Where is that transparency we were promised?
Beck is right that it was not him that deserved credit, it is all of us who questions Jone's values and ideas in a government that is supposed to represent us all.
Shame on us as American citizens wanting to know about those who believe they have power over us. That is where the real problem comes in that believe that they have power over us. Leftist cannot stand the light of day or open government and is why they will always hate Beck and people like him.
It is interesting that Ben Franklin and men like him at the Constitutional Convention in the summer of 1787 had to keep fighting the idea that the common citizen was to ignorant to vote and only their better had the wherewithal to know what is best. Seem not much has change and we are still fighting the battle with those who would be our betters.
The White House and el Presidente "el Uno", the Left and other various progs called this a smear campaign?
That it's called a "smear" would be more believable if the information that Mr. Beck and his researcher came across ain't something "open source".
The Left's spin ain't even credible. Heck, or their Google-fu is weak.
