Getting Tough on Illegal Immigration?

Yesterday's Los Angeles Times ran competing commentaries from GOP gubernatorial candidates Steve Poizner and Meg Whitman. See, "California must stem the flow of illegal immigrants," and "Meg Whitman: immigration reform, with respect."

I'm not impressed with either of them. Poizner's trying to rekindle the Pete Wilson magic of 1994 (it's feigned, and some of the thrill is gone, I'd say, in public opinion), and Whitman's simply hoping not to alienate the seal-the-border constituency on the hard right. Since both of these two are basically opportunistic leftists, it's hard to take them seriously.

But conservatives in Arizona are another story, especially Sheriff Joe Arpaio. As ABC News points out, the guy's authentic and making a difference on the front lines of the immigration wars. See, "
Arizona Law Promises to Be 'Toughest' on Illegal Immigration: Republicans Float Bill to Charge Illegal Immigrants with Trespassing -- in the State":

A bill empowering police to arrest illegal immigrants and charge them with trespassing for simply being in the state of Arizona, is likely just weeks away from becoming the toughest law of its kind anywhere in the country.

Already passed by the state's Senate and currently being reconciled with a similar version in the House, the bill would essentially criminalize the presence of the 460,000 illegal immigrants living in the state.

The measure allows police to detain people on the suspicion that they are illegal immigrants, outlaws citizens from employing day laborers, and makes it illegal for anyone to transport an illegal immigrant, even a family member, anywhere in the state.

The bill's supporters say a local crackdown has become a necessity because the federal government has failed to adequately seal the borders or actively enforce its laws. They blame Arizona's spiraling crime and unemployment rates on its large population of illegal immigrants.

"When you come to America you must have a permission slip, period," said state Sen. Russell Pearce, the Mesa Republican who sponsored the bill. "You can't break into my country, just like you can't break into my house."

"It will be, there's no doubt, the toughest immigration enforcement bill in the nation," said Pearce, a former deputy in the Maricopa County Sherriff's Office, where he worked for Sheriff Joe Arpaio, nicknamed "America's toughest sheriff." Arpaio, who has stirred controversy over his roundups of illegal immigrants, is being investigated by the federal government for alleged racial profiling ....

An Amnesty for illegal immigrants, will do several things that will cost a trillion dollars more for American taxpayers in processing and government benefits.

JUST ONE MONTH..?

LOS ANGELES COUNTY – Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich released figures from the Department of Public Social Services showing that illegal aliens’ children born in the United States collected over $50 million in welfare benefits (CALWORKS + Food Stamps) for the month of January.

Approximately 23% of all CALWORKS and food stamp issuances in Los Angeles County are made to parents who reside in the United States illegally and collect benefits for their native-born children.

“When you add this to $350 million for public safety and nearly $500 million for healthcare, the total cost for illegal immigrants to County taxpayers far exceeds $1 billion a year – not including the millions of dollars for education,” said Antonovich.

1. The illegal immigration rush to the border will never be stopped.
2. Millions more will be ready to run the US Border Patrol gauntlet, before the final act is signed.
3. It means literary-FAMILY UNIFICATION-, so those already here will be able to bring in their immediate family members. That means a rough calculation 3 extra people, (Just a minimum number) could mean another 100 million people, adding to at the least 20 to 30 million already settled here.
4. People will be waiting expectantly for a third AMNESTY.
5. Millions more pregnant females from all across the world, will try and sneak into America before the baby is born. This means that the whole family can move in, which is extra people to the welfare lines.
6. The Border states already overrun with illegal immigrants, wont have to wait for another earthquake? California will be sinking under the behemoth volume of foreign nationals pouring into the financially floundering state. Therefore it will become a third world cesspool. The costs are in the BILLIONS of dollars.
7. The highways will become deathtraps--not that they are not already?
8. Our depreciating infrastructure will decline even more, as there will be even less money to pay for it.
9. Welfare rolls will soar to a unsustainable heights.
10. E-Verify, 287 G, Ice Raids, No Match Letter (Real ID Act & Save Act) would become obsolete.
11. Spanish will become the predominant language in border states.

12. Violence will erupt on a massive scale across the country, that could lead to unrest and riots.
13 Could even lead to a Second Civil War?
14. The only way to justify another AMNESTY is a nationwide referendum. LET THE PEOPLE DECIDE.
15. We must elect--ONLY--true conservatives? NOT RIGHT WING REPUBLICAN'S.
16. Sen. Dick Armey will vote for AMNESTY, so will Sen. John McCain.
17. We must remove Sen. Harry Reid (D-NV), majority Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) from office.
18. Guest workers visas for farms and agricultural work are for that employment--ONLY? They cannot leave and on expiration of that visa, must return to country of residence.
19. ONLY workers with specialized skills, can get special visa's such as engineers, scientists and PH.d. But must be carefully vetted by federal agents. Not the Department of labor. There is much fraud in this area of employment, with less than reputable attorneys.
20. Our government allows around 1.5 million new immigrants into America annually.
21. Approximately 8 million illegal laborers are in the workforce today.
22. Go to www.numbersusa. com for a immigration qualifying records of our politicians. For instance Sen. Jeff Sessions has a high recommendation for fighting against the illegal alien occupation.

23. Go to www.judicialwatch.org to view who has been involved in corruption in Washington.

24. NumbersUSA is fighting for every American worker and slow down the invasion.

Here in Pennsylvania even our union construction workers are laid off work for a very long time now, and we have 424,000 of our own legal children in poverty. That is 15.4 percent of all the children in Pa. Our governor Fast Eddy Rendell’s little city of Philadelphia gave free child birth delivery to a minimum of 1,800 undocumented women in the twelve short months of 2008. At present the lowest estimate of illegal’s State-wide are 3.8 million. Over 60 percent of these illegal aliens are all high school drop outs. Another amnesty would bankrupt many States, and the amount of children who would be eligible for (SCHIP) States Children Health Insurance Program is staggering. Not including undocumented in Pa. there are 1,211,000 legal Pennsylvanian citizens without health insurance.

This area once was coal, garment, mills, shoe factories and steel sustaining our lives. The jobs are long gone, and the number of illegal’s have tripled. We have a high population of Nam vets & many elderly whose life, blood, & sweat built this county, and are now living on a meager $12,000 a year social security, no COLA increase, while paying over 3 thousand in taxes on their old home. Our property taxes were reassessed in this recession doubling many for 2009, and due now 2010 taxes increased another 15%. One elderly person living alone here is also paying over $350 on two different sewer bills, while rental properties harbor 9 to 12 adult illegal border jumpers. All of whom really contribute much to our inadequate sewage treatment facilities. Two County judges busted on federal corruption; they took bribes to send our kids to juvenile detention. A replacement judge sent to hear cases lasted about one week or until he tried to choke his wife. Our still head judge wiped out a few mailboxes on his way home from the bar and left the scene of the accident, but he is such a nice guy of course we all know he wasn’t over the legal driving limit. ALL democrats and that is not half the crap, court house employees, county commissioner same, school board members busted, sewer authority funds and other taxes stolen. Our County prison employees union, court won 17% pay raise was just put on hold until 2012, and unemployment is over 12%, while illegal border jumpers are still working 16 hours a day.

Though this particular region of Luzerne County, Pa. might be a bit more corrupt than most, I needed to mention it first so you can see why hometown people all over the United States of different sex, color, race, religions and politics are seeing Arizona’s Sheriff Arpaio as a true American hero. Just as the HOPE of many citizens elected President Obama… Sheriff Arpaio is giving HOPE to many, many citizens all over our Country.

Deportation would sure provide many jobs in every field of employment. While taxes have already greatly increased on the poor, they are only being used to the advantage of this “poor minority” of high school dropout border jumper’s. Our children of many colors are growing up lazy without proper work ethics unemployed because illegal border jumpers are doing the jobs we held at 15 years of age. As a lifelong Catholic here is one Catholic priest who is actually for us poorer hardworking legal citizens of all Color. It is a 10 minute video filmed next door to Pennsylvania in Harlem, N.Y. Every word is so true.

The next big push by the communists will be to grant amnesty to the illegal criminals who have invaded our America.

They will do it just like they did with CommieCare - lies, backroom deals and bribes.

And just like CommieCare had nothing to do with health care reform, Scamnesty II will not be about immigration reform.

It will be about seating a permanent, defeat-proof socialist congress - in January of 2010, not 2013.

You had better believe that buried somewhere within the legislation will be language giving these people the "right" to vote in our national elections.

-And that "right" will be in place as soon as the Comrade Chairman signs the bill - probably before the ink even dries.

The really sad thing is that so many RINOs are planning to aid the commies in doing this horrible thing to our country.

So many of my conservative friends laughed at ObamaCare the entire way, telling me not to worry - that it would never pass in America - almost right up to the very moment Stupak pulled his Benedict Arnold maneuver, thus selling out his country.

Most of these same people are assuring me now that CommieCare will be repealed, or struck down by the SCOTUS.

Really?

This is the same SCOTUS that decided that state and local governments had more of a right to your property than you did.

As for repealing it, that will have to be done very early on. Problem is, you have to have 67 Senate votes to override a certain veto by the Comrade Chairman, and the only way you are going to get 67 votes is to recall some dem senators who are not up for re-election in November.

No, Scamnesty II has to be killed while it is in congress - long before it gets to Obama.

Should it somehow pass, the only way you are going to then save America will be 40 or 50 million seriously pissed off Americans surrounding DC with pitchforks and torches.

In other words, we'll be screwed fer sure.
