Violent Clashes in Egypt — VIDEO

I'll have more theoretical analysis later.

Meanwhile, The Other McCain updates: "
Crisis in Cairo Continues: Egyptians Ignore Obama, Resort to Violence." And at The Lede, "Latest Updates on Day 9 of Egypt Protests."

And don't miss this, at Israel Matzav, "
Mark Levin interviews Caroline Glick on Egypt and the Muslim Brotherhood." Also, a general blog roundup at Reaganite Republican, "Perusing the Conservative Blogosphere..."

Interesting Michael Totten interview that has me worried. I remember the leftist supporters in the 1970s who told me not to worry about an Islamist takeover in Iran. They told me that they were just using the Islamists and would get rid of them when in power. Someone was being used ...

On the other hand, Daniel Pipes believes the military will keep the Islamists from completely taking over (as in the Jack Wheeler article I previously cited).

The Arab and Persian cultures are very different. I've noticed this from personal observations. However, I highly recommend Patai's "The Arab Mind" to under stand the Arab way of thinking. It was last updated in the 1980s but little has changed. It is a classic (and hated by Edward Said). Patai was a sociologist and scholar.
