Neda is Martyr to Iranian Revolt!

From Robin Wright, "In Iran, One Woman's Death May Have Many Consequences":

Iran's revolution has now run through a full cycle. A gruesomely captivating video of a young woman — laid out on a Tehran street after apparently being shot, blood pouring from her mouth and then across her face — swept Twitter, Facebook and other websites this weekend. The woman rapidly became a symbol of Iran's escalating crisis, from a political confrontation to far more ominous physical clashes. Some sites refer to her as "Neda," Farsi for the voice or the call. Tributes that incorporate startlingly upclose footage of her dying have started to spring up on YouTube.

Although it is not yet clear who shot "Neda" (a soldier? pro-government militant? an accidental misfiring?), her death may have changed everything. For the cycles of mourning in Shiite Islam actually provide a schedule for political combat — a way to generate or revive momentum. Shiite Muslims mourn their dead on the third, seventh and 40th days after a death, and these commemorations are a pivotal part of Iran's rich history. During the revolution, the pattern of confrontations between the shah's security forces and the revolutionaries often played out in 40-day cycles.
(See pictures of terror in the streets of Tehran.) ...

"Neda" is already being hailed as a martyr, a second important concept in Shiism. With the reported deaths of 19 people Saturday, martyrdom also provides a potent force that could further deepen public anger at Iran's regime.

The evolution of Iran's revolution: The current confrontation is another phase of the country's century-long political journey. And this one, like the others, will bring lasting changes."

Well, President Obama played golf with VP Biden today. He is auoted as saying, “You've seen in Iran, some initial reaction from the Supreme Leader that indicates he understands the Iranian people have deep concerns about the election . . . ”

What a wimp. The people of Iran are revolting against a fraudulent election and Obamaand endorses the despots.
Dante said it well, “The hottest places in hell are reserved for those who, in time of moral crisis, maintain their neutrality.”

That's "quoted" not "auoted"

I watched the video of the poor girls death, and I read the idiotic comments of the brain dead liberals that say "the people should have listened to the government warnings." If our founders had thought like that we'd still be flying the Union Jack.

God bless that girl's family. And all those dying so that their voices can be heard.

I can find no such comments. Please provide example links, so I can add my own two cents, in response.

@ Greywolfe

I looked as best I could (both through the videos themselves, and for anyone with the youtube user name you reference) and can't locate the comment to which you refer. Maybe it was taken down...

Are you sure the racist anti-semite in question was a liberal? And what about the other "brain dead liberals" you reference? Isn't there anyone I can take down for such a foolish comment, blaming the protesters who got injured/killed for not listening to the violent threats of the government?

I'll try to spend some time looking later repsac3. It could very well be that the whole post could have been removed. Like I said, there's been a flurry of video posts. If it has indeed been deleted along with other offensive comments, kudos to youtube. It's out of character, but I'm glad anyways.
