Anyone up for some skydiving:

I love flying. Hell, I practically grew up in Cessna 172's and 182's, but I never really felt compelled to actually jump out of one of them.

Well, there was that time our little Dachshund threw up all over the back seat.

What a mess.

Dr.D,
Good post. I admire someone of GWHB's ilk. He is a true hero and he is a great example of the mettle of the Greatest Generation. My father-in-law is a WWII veteran and is very humble about it. What a great bunch of people and they were the group that made America great.

I grew up on drop zones as a kid (my step-father was a jump master) and in addition to many observer rides I've made a few jumps myself and I've loved every one.

That said, I find it ironic that the president who ramped up the failed war on drugs more than any other made his first skydive when he bailed out of his fighter plane over the Pacific during WWII and had his life saved by a chute constructed entirely of hemp fiber.

Add to this that the Bush family owns sizable interest in the pharmaceutical company manufacturing the pill form of the psychoactive chemical found in cannabis, I'd call the man a hypocrite as much as a hero.

Of course that's just my opinion, I could be wrong...
