It seems obvious that this war in a fishbowl, where civilians have nowhere to run to by Israeli design and so Israel can continue to allege that Hamas is using them as "human shields" instead of coming out into the field to fight fair and receive a proper ass-kicking, is entirely counterproductive to Israel's longterm aims if those aims are indeed to see an end to Palestinian extremism and terrorist attacks on Israeli civilians.Read the whole post, which cites the extreme left-wing (and morally corrupt) LGM for support, and then ask yourself this: Did Israel's IDF and Mossad brainwash Nizar Rayyan's four wives and 11 children to pledge eternal death to the Hamas ringleader in the event of surgical strikes on his compound? As INN reports:
When Hamas leader Nizar Rayyan was assassinated in an IAF strike last week, his four wives and 11 of his children died with him. According to his surviving children, the death of the Rayyan family children was not an accident: Rayyan had trained his wives and children to die with him as "martyrs."It's been a sickening couple of weeks with all the calls to put the Jews back in the ovens. At protests at home and abroad, anti-Semitic, anti-American nihilist extermination has again reared its head in a preview of the campaign of neo-totalitarianism we'd see if these folks seized total power across the globe, beginning with the destruction of Israel. The blogging contingents on the radical left - led by Cernig and Scott Lemiex, among many others - only serve to provide a web presence of ostensibly acceptable "progressive" thought, which is really the malevelent eruption of the kind of anti-rationalism that the U.S. defeated in World War II.
It's sad - almost tragic - that the left's contemporary discourse has turned authoritarian and reactionary, but this is the concatentation of ideological evil that the conservative forces of good, right, and tradition will face in the years ahead.

Donald,
I just wrote an exact opposite article to this. It is because of similar garbage like this that made me think about the decades of silliness.
"Why the rush towards cease fire? — Give war a chance."
It is my crowning achievement on this Hamas bizz.

I enjoyed your post Jason. I read the post by Cernig and understand why he/she does not give us her whole name. Some bloggers just write without any real comprehension of reality. Astounding.
The left assumes that everyone wants peace. The fact that there are groups of crazy people who not only want to kill, but be killed in combat is inconceivable to them. They will never understand.
It has been a truly sickening couple of weeks of Israeli atrocities in Gaza. What is even more sickening is that our own elected officials in Congress, with exceptions such as Ron Paul and Dennis Kucinich, support the criminal Israelis.
Peace...
Just who counts as a civilian in a guerrilla war? Do the Hamas fighters carry documentation or wear dog tags saying, “Umgwana kik Booti, Hamas Militia, Serial # OU812?” Do they wear distinctive uniforms, complete with rank insignia?
But, a close reading of the Hamas Charter tells us that there are no civilians at all there. The Preamble states that
The Islamic world is on fire. Each of us should pour some water, no matter how little, to extinguish whatever one can without waiting for the others.
That would seem to include the entire Islamic population.
Article 4 says:
The Islamic Resistance Movement welcomes every Moslem who embraces its faith, ideology, follows its programme, keeps its secrets, and wants to belong to its ranks and carry out the duty. Allah will certainly reward such one.
Article 7 says:
As a result of the fact that those Moslems who adhere to the ways of the Islamic Resistance Movement spread all over the world, rally support for it and its stands, strive towards enhancing its struggle, the Movement is a universal one.
And Article 7 continues:
Moreover, if the links have been distant from each other and if obstacles, placed by those who are the lackeys of Zionism in the way of the fighters obstructed the continuation of the struggle, the Islamic Resistance Movement aspires to the realisation of Allah’s promise, no matter how long that should take. The Prophet, Allah bless him and grant him salvation, has said:
“The Day of Judgement will not come about until Moslems fight the Jews (killing the Jews), when the Jew will hide behind stones and trees. The stones and trees will say O Moslems, O Abdulla, there is a Jew behind me, come and kill him. Only the Gharkad tree, (evidently a certain kind of tree) would not do that because it is one of the trees of the Jews.” (related by al-Bukhari and Moslem).
To Hamas, all who are Muslim and resist the “lackeys of Zionism” are the freedom fighters. Thus, by their own definitions, all of those killed by Israeli action who are not actively opposed to Hamas and its goals are, in fact, Hamas, and could not be called civilians.
The notion that the Israelis are killing civilians is a Western one, kind of like the idea that the Palestinians are willing to accept Israel and live side-by-side with the Israelis in peace, if the Israelis would just be reasonable. To Hamas, the notion is ridiculous. They are willing to use it as a PR tool with which to hammer the Israelis, because they will use any tools they believe will work for them, but they have no more respect for the Western distinctions between combatants and civilians than they do for Westerners at all.
"Criminal Israelis"! Crap! I'd like to know how the left would feel should the bombs start falling on them!
Sorry about not being around more often, Donald. I've been very busy and still am, although I'm trying to keep up.
It is a fact that Hamas hides behind civilians, then yells foul when civilians are killed. It is a fact that Hamas always agrees to a peace treaty and then breaks it after they have regrouped and re-armed themselves. It is a fact that they believe the Jewish people aren't even human and should be wiped out completely, and it is a fact that radical Islam believes that no one who doesn't believe what they believe doesn't deserve to live, and that includes all Americans, even the liberals. Anyone who believes otherwise is not dealing with a full deck!
Sorry. Dana came in with her comment while I was writing mine. My comment was in response to JD's.
Norm,
Thanks for stopping by and giving it a gander.
The other side must be heard.
The criminals have been hiding weapons in and firing said weapons from schools and from behind the skirts of women and their baby carriages.
The only question left is whether or not Teheran will raise the ante or fold?
These Americans and Europeans who support Hamas, an organization that is directly opposed to every
freedom that modern man has fought for and obtained, are traitors.
Thanks for commenting, Jason. I'll check out your piece.
Thanks for commenting, Norm.
Cernig is not even his real name. I have it somewhere in an e-mail from Courtney, but I respect his anonymity. Either way, he's a disaster.
Indeed, Shoprat, the "peace" activists want anything but when it comes to Israel.
J.D.: You haven't been welcomed here in a long time. I would have deleted your comment, but since others have responded I'll leave it alone. As far as I'm concerned you're an undignified troll. Don't come back, as you have nothing - ever - useful or respectable to say.
I've seen folks cite other part of Hamas charter, Dana. It's a program for the destruction of Israel.
I know you've been busy, Gayle. Comment when you can!
Interesting take by Dershowitz here. One of his key points is that as Hamas love martyrdom and death, Israel is being perceived as playing into their hands, i.e. if they cut down the civilian casualties, world opinion would also be affected.

Hamas are truly despicable, but no, the left does not want the destruction of Israel. Keep it real folks.
The Professor and his right wing companions need an evil enemy to justify their deluded views Tim. So they usually make one up. Every now and then some kook like the professor of medieval basket weaving, or something similarly useless, from Colorado, Wade Forgot his last name, says something stupid the right wing can spend a few days getting excited about. I guess Hamas an Al Queda aren't enough villians for them.
"The Professor and his right wing companions need an evil enemy..."
I don't "need" an evil enemy. The left has created theirs in the U.S. and Israel. You are with them on this, and I don't like it. That's why my blog confounds you so, and it's why you keep coming back.
"Trained" to be martyrs?? What?? Did he beat the "h" out of his wives to force them into submission to kill their children??? Because a WOMAN HAS NO ABILITY to say "no" to her husband in that culture.
No one but a SEXIST PIG would be pro-HAMAS!
You leftist sexist pigs go straight to hell - as you collude with terrorists to cause innocent women and children to die in an paternalistic abusive dictatorial society where women have no equal rights.
Go to hell on this one. And don't play "leftist liberal" with me.
Grace.
Hey! T101,
I thought you were with us on this one??
Grace.
Grace is correct that I oppose thugs who hijack religions and brutalize women.
My belief in equal rights is consistent with my hawkish attitude. I hope that clears up any confoundedness that's been going on around here.
T101, I knew you were against terrorists. And I think it's great your for women's equality. :)
(We just don't agree about abortion - but we do agree then about equality. Great.)
I mean, this really ticks me off. This is a society that brutalizes and strips women of all human rights... and leftists wanna act like it's okay to say anything good about Hamas and Sharia Law??
TICKS ME OFF!!
I am woman... and that really makes me angry. Our entire nation should be united on this oen - right and left - KNOWING this culture does not respect women's rights!! I am really, really angry with leftists on this (not you) who don't stand up for women's rights and against Islam and Sharia Law and this awful Hamas.
Grace.
